My first build, input and help if possible!

Ok, so finally getting around to building my first rig, and have all the important things picked out, but I am more than willing to listen to input on those pieces. Also, if anyone has a good optics drive, because I really don't need much, and a wireless card is needed, seeing as I'm a story up from my modem, and I am not allowed to run cordes to hardwire into it, so I need to go wireless.

    Full Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1DsKE

    CPU: Intel Core i7-4770k http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116901
CPU cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103065
    MOBO: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130693
Memory: Kingston HyperX XMP 10th Anniversary Series 4x4GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104400
    Storage: SAMSUNG 840 Series 250GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147186
Storage: Western Digital WD Black 1TB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136533
Video Card: MSI Gaming N780 TF http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127746
Case: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=carbide%20540
Extra Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance Edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181023

    Total Price [all newegg] $1737.91

Notes! Power supply, I have a Corsair 750w that is in my current machine that I'm just swapping over. OS, most likely going to be Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, may get better, but definitely 7, and definitely 64 bit.

That leaves the optics drive, which I may just end up picking one out, though any suggestions would be nice, I don't want one that will crap out on me, and the NEED for a wireless card, and any suggestions and input is much appreciated!

How much overclocking on the CPU are you planning? You can reach 4.2GHz MAX with the 212 Plus.

Get the 780 asus dc ii, runs cooler and overclocks better.

Change board for very good built in wireless

Ram is 1.65v which may result in some issues with Haswell.

Change CPU to 4670k unless you do streaming / video rendering.

All suggestions that i can stand behind.
    - Definitively go for 1.5V ram. 1.65V can cause issues with Haswell.
    - Only pick the i7 if you know that you need it for cpu heavy stuff besides gaming (video editing, 3D-modeling, streaming while gaming, etc.). In games alone the difference is non-existent.

    In addition to that:
    - 8GB RAM (2x4GB) is absolutely enough for gaming and most other things. Only get more if you need it (e.g. mostly for the stuff where an i7 would be good over the i5)
    - Get the 250GB Samsung 840 EVO instead.
    - Not sure about the case. It's most likely a good case, but it has a hefty price. I would look for alternatives in the $70-100 region (Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, Bitfenix Raider, ...)
Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?

I do plan on streaming while gaming, as well as some boss kill vids and such. Plus I don't really feel like wanting to upgrade this machine for a while. As for overclocking, it will honestly be my first time doing anything of the sort, so I don't plan on going too hard and fast with it, especially at the beginning. All in all though, thank you for all the suggestions! I will take them all into consideration and price things out. And [god forbid] I will be back if I have any questions putting together or why it wont run and so on.

Because it's Haswell and b/c you want to OC, I'd grab a Corsair H100i for your CPU cooling system.

It's a minor point, but you could bump up the RAM speed as well. The mobo is specced to go up to 3,000 and that haswell chip can certainly make use of it. Helps if you want to run a lot of stuff in the background while gaming. Prob talking less than a 3% difference 99.9% of the time though.

Also minor point, but could grab the samsung 840 pro SSD over the samsung 840 SSD. Faster speeds that your mobo/chip can actually handle. Doubt you'd notice the difference but for games with a lot of stuff being pulled from your HD it can make a meaingful difference.

    Otherwise what these guys said.

I wouldn't. There's effectively no difference for a higher cost.

The Pro would not provide really any benefit. Again, a waste of money. The EVO is prime real estate right now.

I was actually wondering about the H100.. was looking at it and was told it really didn't have much more benefit than air cooling. Was my friend talking out of his ass or will it really give me more cooling for the cost? (Not that the cost is a huge deal, just curious at this point)

It does benefit considerably at high-end overclocks.

The benefit is there and we're talking about 5-8 degrees which many do consider huge, and the 212 plus isn't anywhere near a high-end air cooler.
