No PTR and then Vael's door only opens for a couple guilds.
Yeah...stuff like that used to happen back in the day. Imagine the outrage that would ensue nowadays.
And it comes to a screeching halt lol
Perfect example of why "community" forums are poisonous to the health of a development team. These developers are wasting hundreds of hours trying to stem the tide of incessant bitchery that would never, ever abate so long as these entitled, unfortunate human beings don't get their way.
I swear to god, this thread is made every single content patch... How is it in 6 years people still don't get the simple fact that the BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD are going to clear content extremely quickly? They accept everything else, the best runners run very fast, the best swimmers swim very fast etc. What do you expect to happen when the best of the best enter these fights, unless the fight is gated of via it being mathematically impossible or some sort of stat requirement then they are just going to be killed.
The simply fact there ONLY 11/14 currently is actually impressive, that's 35 - 48 hours of raiding and only 11 bosses killed.
Rag without triforce would require 7 healers. Maybe 6, but I kind of doubt it. THe kind of damage we're talking if the strat is to rotate a single group through the water is kinda like Phase 3 Grand Empress Shekzier, and people brought 8+ to that.
7 healers would have meant in phase 3, you would have seen, reliably, 4 meteors (1, 1, 2). And that's if your DPS is good. I could easily see in an average DPS group, getting a 4th meteor spawn. But in any event, 4 meteors in phase 4 is... I can't even imagine. I hate to use the impossible in raiding, but it's just too many moving objects, too much damage, all at once. Even two meteors was tricky learning it.
Without triforce, the fight needed a major overhal. Meteors spawn would need to have been slowed down significantly, I think more than doubled. Aspects of phase 4 damage taken would have necessarily had to change.
Triforce was one of the most elegant strats I've ever seen in a fight. All of Heroic Rag was one of the finest encounters this game ever had. I always felt nerfing Rag to make Triforce unnecessary was a pre-Dragon Soul gimme to guilds stuck on executing it, pre patch. That's why I called the blue a full of shit goddamn liar. Because Triforce struck me as exactly the kind of thing Blizzard would intend for Phase 4 of Heroic Rag (or any "hard" fight), and the timing of the mechanics in Phase 3 (and even phase 2) only buttressed that. Heroic Rag with triforce felt extreme organic and natural. Heroic Rag with the supposed "intended" strat and "intended comp" is nothing of the sort. There was nothing about it that said "unintended", other than "we didn't expect as many guilds to get stuck on it". And, we'll note, the game has seen nothing remotely like Tri Force since it's inception. Closest thing was the Heroic Lei Shen "ranged DPS / Ball lightning ring". And that barely qualifies.
Oh yes, the four meteors would have been fun to deal with even without the hard enrage. I'm sure it was about as killable as original C'thun was. One of the only decent fights to come out of Cata IMO, until they just cheesed it because they didn't like Triforce. I haven't raided in MOP since I took a long break and don't consider LFR "raiding."
- In PTR they can gem/reforge/enchant how they want, and they are also testing the class changes; also with premade characters not nescessairly importing their own chars
- They can play freely the bosses, but still encounters can have minor tunning or adjustments
If they can play freely, they play how they want, the time they want.
When it goes live, it's their own "live" toons and it's a RACE, to see the fastest - and so the best - raiding guild.
Complaining about that seems like saying the same thing in a car race: "What? They do a Free Practice before the race? So they know the car, the track and the opponents before hand? What's the point in having a Race to see who win?".
For you (and me), spectators, it could be like "more exciting". But totally unfair to that players who take that "business" seriously.
Not only that: doing this way Blizzard keep the race clean. If they made the stuff "top secret", it could always be the suspicion of someone/guild beeing favoured by having contact to someone inside Blizzard. I can imagine someone creating a post titled "The Lei Shen Scandal" or "Firelandsgate". And, as always, yelling something like "Blizzard is a joke".

The guild on PTR are helping Blizzard balance the encounters for the rest of us. It's a good thing.
The more bosses there are in a tier that's locked in 1 raid the easier it will be and "gear" is why.
Every guild that is serious about the world rankings is running at least 5 25m groups on normal mode to gear up all the players for progression, nothing new here. But, the more bosses there are to get loot from, the more chances you have to properly get gear those players for progression. This tier the item upgrades are available from the start of the tier. Fully upgrading 2 items (mostly OP trinket/weapon) for free the first week. And then fully upgrading up to 8 heroic items from early faceroll heroic bosses helps tremendously for roadblock bosses. That's why this tier guilds are rushing through the content and it "looks" to be relatively easier compared to last tier.
And about the ptr... ptr's were always there available for the most dedicated guilds.
Just my 2 cents.
