Can someone explain bonus loot protection please

Lets say the base for winning a piece of loot off a boss is set to 20% on a bonus roll. And loot protection increases the chance by 5% each time.

    Does it work like this?

I do Ordos - use bonus roll - do not win
I do Sha of pride - use bonus roll - do not win
I do General Nazgrim - use bonus roll - do win.

    Does this mean...

Ordos will have a 25% chance to award loot next week, or a 20% chance to award loot next week? Is loot protection boss specific? Was the chance to win loot from Nazgrim set to 30%?

Would the chance to win something off ordos be affected if I do my raid earlier in the week and win something off Nazgrim instead?

This is straight from the patch notes.

    Bonus Roll

Protection for bad luck streaks have been added to bonus rolls. Each bonus roll that does not provide loot has a progressively better chance to award loot to the player.

I would assume it's working 100% of the time so you always have a higher and higher chance to get a bonus item before it resets to the default chance, so it's somewhat possible to game it if you need loot off a certain boss.

The way it works is as soon as you win an item from a bonus roll, it resets the chance back to default with no extra % chance. So with you're scenario, Ordos would have a 20% chance if you just won a bonus roll off something as the chance was set to 30% for Nazgrim and you won a bonus roll.
    I'm mean because you're stupid.

Yes, but then I saw posts from blues suggesting that it was boss specific. Now I am confused.

I don't recall them saying it was boss-specific, just that it reset once you got a successful roll. For example, if you miss a roll, your odds of winning loot go up by X% each miss until it's so mathematically close to 100% the difference doesn't matter in practice and you're all but guaranteed loot from that roll, then it resets to a 0% bonus as soon as you win a roll.

Awesome sig by Elyaan is awesome.

Pretty sure it's not boss specific, but based on every time you use a coin.

boss 1 - nothing + 25% chance to win on the next coin
boss 2 - nothing + 25% chance to win on the next coin
boss 3 - nothing + 25% chance to win on the next coin
    boss 4 - win! resets to 0

obviously the 25% is just an example percentage :P

It's far less than this. ive gone through 10 coins before without winning a piece of loot. im thinking it's a lowsy 5% increase per failed roll.

    Magic, explanation complete.
Naftc, "Hunters are the cheapest class in game and when played right are more deadly than a train plowing through a field of bunnies covered in napalm"

Will winning from Elder Charm and Mogu Rune of Fate reset that bonus?

Yes, if you win a bonus roll, the roll protection is reset until you start missing again.

80% to hit him with a Sniper rifle directly in front of Mutton and it misses I highly doubt it!
