Since soon there's no difference between any of the classes. All classes have the same ability to dmg, tank and dps. No need to bring player X since ppl can just swap about. And why would I level a new character if I can do the same things with my current toons?

This game is getting more and more dumbed down... don't make it even more so please..

Actually increased convenience can really affect gameplay in a major way. Good example is Diablo 3 auction house. Technically people could still trade items in D2, but added convenience made it basically the only way to play and forced them to balance entire game around it.
This just isn't the same situation at all.

You can already choose three, and switch between them at almost no cost. 50g is nothing at all these days.

How is allowing tri-spec dumbing down the game? Ya know the classes are still different and can do different things and for the most part raiding guilds probably wont bring a class if their dps is currently subpar to other specs more so than the variance ability of the class/spec. I mean if all the druids forms are subpar to other classes/specs as far as tanking/healing/dps will the raid group more than likely still want to take them over another spec that is currently superior. As has been stated numerous, numerous times the specs can swap out now except it just takes more time so all this is doing is saving people's time, which for a game built around time sink you would think this feature would be welcomed. Oh btw just had twins and babies are very hardwork, thank god there asleep now so I can get a little break and the wife can get some sleep.

Wild suggestion, why not give all classes tank, healing and dps spec?

And Draenei were Friendly with the Aldor before they did the quest as well. It was more flavour than anything, a minor perk for leveling up the new race.

Because unless each spec is different, mechanically and thematically, you'll have a wave of QQ about homogenisation.

Its as if people think Tri-spec will all of a sudden completely homogenize every class/spec. Ayn Rand was/is a brilliant woman and great sig and damn if she wasn't prophetic with Atlas Shrug.

This literally has nothing to do with this thread, and of course makes no sense at all.

Well next expansion if a new race is added tri spec would be a good implementation if they decide not to do it before.

That, and to let people have seperate PvP/PvE specs - back when talent choices actually used to matter.

It's not so bad when playing casually but when I raid I HATE it because on some fights holy was better others disc was better and then I had to respec every night I wanted to be shadow to do dailies faster or solo old raids or whatever.

Theres loads of stuff that has zero point to it.

Yes, and once you have tri-spec then you can already choose 4 specs, so why not quadra-spec? And when you add quadra-spec, you can already choose five specs, so why not penta-spec? And so forth and so on, until you reach the point where you reason you should just have unlimited specs. And at that point, when you're just pointlessly clicking a button to access skills you already have access too, why even have any specs at all?

You can't argue that dual-spec is an arbitrary stopping point for multiple specs and then turn around and argue that tri-spec isn't.

The stopping point is at 4 specs really because that's the most anyone has. In the past when you could have a PvE frost mage and a PvP frost mage for example then unlimited specs made sense but now when you can freely change talents/glyphs at any point there is no need for unlimited specs just 4 because that's the most.

I haven't argued that. Again, I've sourced Rift as having a similar system. I wouldn't care about having saved spec slots. Its meaningless to have to go to SW or Org to do it. They have made the game INSANELY over convenient in certain areas of the game and then but their foot down on something meaningless and arbitrary.

    Again, 4 FPS in westfall?

I would also use your own argument against you. You can't argue that adding more spec slots would suddenly lead to the "why have specs at all" jargon. That makes no sense.

Just make it to where you can't switch in combat, can't switch in a boss encounter, can't switch in BG's, or mid flight, among other things. This change wouldn't impact raiders so much as they can use Lock stones and summoning stones.

You also haven;t made a valid argument against the change.

I would almost bet money that they had someone sit down and make sure going between any 2 likely route points in the game would have a maximum travel time - e.g. 1 minute or 2 minutes, or that flight points/vehicles would otherwise speed matters up - - but only for certain zones?

The westfall example has a few others, WPL comes to mind. hard to click on the exact place you want there are so many.

IMO add tri/quad spec and just add a gold cost to change between them of the 30-60g

Ugh God no. I would jut be pissed for that Disc priest to be needing my hit/haste stuff because it is for his third spec. Dungeons would become a shit pile of everybody needing everything (they already kind of are though).

People apparently think tri-spec means adding specs to each class. That's not what's being discussed here at all.
