Na, MoP will only have a life span of 1 year, but is true that we may stay for a while with SoO, i hope Blizzard release a new patch before the next expansion

6-9 months.... tops I'd be SHOCKED if we make it past next summer. Blizzard said they were pushing for an expansion every 18 months. MoP Released Sept 2012.. I say Late Spring of 2014 for next Xpack

I guarantee you we won't be raiding SoO for 12-14 months. It's long, but not that long.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Blizzcon Reveal, January Beta, May Launch.

This is also what I believe. I also expect 5.5 playable in December and 6.0 in April.

    Lol, what?

    God no.

Considering how fast content came out in Mists I'm 110% it'll be coming out early summer of next year if not spring.

This would make total sense. Two months after the reveal to start the beta, if not even sooner? That's a smart move.

Plus, you have to remember this: they've been working knee deep in this expansion since I think before Mists.

They even started hyping it before Mists came out with a few tweets here and there.

Mists ended the leaky Friends and Family Alpha, shifting it to a solely in-house Alpha.

That alone will shave 3-6 months off the turnover from reveal to launch.

considering they have been able too keep up with the 6month give or take some per raid tier so far in MoP.
i wouldnt be too suprised if t16 also will last around 6 months. ofcourse they can get delayed or decide too make it last longer.

but im giving them benefit of the doubt this time around, since they kept their word so far with the schedule in MoP.

    4.0 - 10/12/2010
    4.1 - 04/26/2011 (6 months)
    4.2 - 06/28/2011 (2 months)
    4.3 - 11/29/2011 (5 months)

    5.0 - 08/28/2012
    5.1 - 11/27/2012 (3 months)
    5.2 - 03/05/2013 (3 months)
    5.3 - 05/21/2013 (2 months)
    5.4 - 09/10/2013 (4 months)

With the exception of 4.1, it hasn't been all that much faster. I'd say earliest release for Expansion 5 would be July 2014, but August makes more sense. We'll probably see 6.0 in late June/July 2014.

You're ignoring the facts you wrote down.

    6, 2, 5 VS 3, 3, 2, 4.

Pretty clear to me MoP's average time between updates is lower.

Talk is cheap for Blizzard. I am going to go by their track record, announcement to release minimum of 8 months.

I'm gonna say we get 6-7 months of SoO. So Summer-ish, but Spring is also a possibility. Reveal at Blizzcon 100% anyway

    Late May...

They're moving faster, but it's still Blizzard.

If it's below 6-7 months then I expect next xpac to be rushed and crappy

Geez, now that you look at it,the expansion actually ended in less then a year.I know Blizzard tried to speed up,but still....

Then how do you explain them not having a 4th tier? 14 months of SoO? Doubtful.

They have done well with the little patches between major patches...kinda hoping they stick with it and give us the expansion a couple of months before the 2 year mark >.< Hoping for a release any time before july but prob not gonna happen

That would be much faster then previous alpha and beta testing periods, but it could happen. I do doubt they make another ICC mistake and stick us in the same raid for a year wondering why we pay them.
