    Sha of Pride 10HM Tips

Any tips our there for this encounter? We're hoping to have some time on it this lockout and it would be nice if you guys could share some pro tips.

Be pro bro. jk lol It's relatively the same as normal aside from the maze phase and the cracks on the ground. For the maze phase, we always went left> left (by then you have 2 orbs)> then turn right and you should be out by or before then. Remember you can't stop. Cracks on the ground are easy to miss so everyone should pay attention and everyone should always have the debuff and when it falls off, go get another one. Aside from that, I can't remember anything significant.

    1) We had everyone with gift of the titans meet under the boss. As soon as everyone gets the buff move away (you don't have to stay in range of the others to keep the buff)
    2) stay spread out
    3) Always have the debuff from soaking puddles
    4) Silence the big add in the back of the room to bring him forward then keep him stunned until he dies
    5) Getting the person out of the maze is more important than the adds

    1. Link a video of the Banishment (or "Pac-Man" phase) for everyone to watch so you don't have to waste time with each person trying to learn it personally.
    2. Closing Rifts is a very high priority. Everyone should always have the debuff from closing a Rift, including healers and tanks. You will get overwhelmed very quickly if you don't stay on top of these. Work together on this: call out new Rift locations and the name of players that don't have the debuff if you have more than a few out at once.
    3. Everything from normal mode matters more. Do it all correctly (get a tank on the little adds and kill them quickly, never let the big add cast, fully utilize Gift, dispel things, get prisons cleared ASAP, execute 25/50/75 Pride mechanics).
    4. Do not ignore anything in the <30% phase. Keep doing mechanics. They're going to happen faster, so you will wipe faster than you think if you ignore them.
    5. Everything happens at specific energy levels. Make sure you know what's going to happen next and be ready for it.

Good luck! It shouldn't take too many wipes if people are on their game.

This is inaccurate, by the way. There are two parts to this buff: the Gift part and the Power part. Both have a 15s duration. The Power part keeps refreshing its duration the entire time the Gift part is up and targets are together, and Power will stay up after Gift drops. By spreading out as soon as you get Power, you miss out on up to 15s of the buff.

You should get together as soon as possible, move/spread around if necessary, and then make an effort to refresh Power again before the Gift part ends. This shouldn't be too difficult and comes with a fairly sizable gain.

It's a really good encounter and would be one of the better ones if it was tuned higher.

Make sure people are on their game closing rifts, but don't do it when he's casting swelling pride. Swelling pride does a lot of damage on heroic and you should defensive it every single time. You don't need to close rifts immediately once your debuff falls off, but it's certainly ideal to have as few as possible going into the 30% burn. Once we hit the 30% burn only tanks closed rifts, and if you don't have that many up going into the phase you should be able to burn the boss before they get out of hand.

Always do the mechanics correctly, and never ignore them. Really easy way to wipe.

Our healers dispelled the debuff regardless of whether or not they had the buff up at certain points, especially if people had multiple stacks. It's IMO fine for healers to go above 50 pride, but DPS should easily be able to reach the 30% pride wipe phase with less than 50 if you do everything properly. It's complete and utter failure if you manage to get above 75 though.

For the buff what you should do is stack up immediately then spread out. The buff you get from stacking up can extend past the point of when the original buff wears off. As such if you truly want to maximize it you should stack up, then loosely spread out and then a couple seconds before it expires stack up again. This gives you upwards of 30 seconds of the buff as opposed to like 15 seconds. Big difference.

The pacman thing really isn't that big of a deal, just don't touch the sha. I'm a tank so I don't get ported, but what my other raiders mentioned was that if you have to choose between taking damage by going through the walls or clipping the sha, clip the walls. Also the person who gets ported down leaves a copy of themselves up stairs. DPS them down immediately to break them out. If you DPS hard enough they should port back up shortly after they pick up the first golden orb downstairs. The sha realm isn't hard technically, but if you just ignore their physical body upstairs and not get them out immediately they will get ru nover and killed.

    1. Keep rifts under control. Try and close them as close to your debuff falling off as possible. Don't do it around swelling pride.
    2. Stack up for the buff, disperse and stack up in the closing seconds.
    3. Mechanics first both normal and heroic before DPSing the boss
    4. Kill the transported players physical body to quicken their return to the boss

Really about it. Just like normal make sure you're saving CDs for the 30% phase. If you two heal and have good DPS you should kill him shortly after the first swelling pride, so just blow all defensive CDs for the first swelling pride sub 30%.
