    Hearthstone making want to PvP

It has been a long time since I've played. I do not even own MoP. I for some reason miss playing PvP so much. Watching Hearthstone streams for some reason made me miss it. The reason I quit before was most of my friends stopped playing. I wasn't anything special just a Duelist every season. But even thinking back to Battlegrounds makes me want to buy the game.

But the new arena system has been the one thing holding me back. The new no team thing. Was not to sure how it works. The other thing I was worried that would hinder my fun is my friends list that was maxed out only 5 people have logged on in under 1 month time.

Anyways I was just really hoping for your opinion on the new arena system.

Back in Cata Blizzard stated they didn't want bursty PvP anymore. However, in my opinion, MOP made it worse. Do I still have fun in PvP? Yes, but when my friends asked if they should come back I usually tell them no.

That said, as Kezuma said, it seems that this expac increased FOTM more than normal. But it's easier then ever to gear, so you could always reroll whats hot and whats not.

Mage and warlock traditionally always have a comp that works, but if you were coming back to play but had no friends already to go then I would say find something else to do. WoW pvp is a ton of fun, if you are playing with friends. BGs, fun. RBGs, more fun. Arena, fun. World PvP (ganking), fun. If you are doing it all solo then it is the most aids ridden garbage that ever existed.

When I read so many people hating the PvP experience in wow I almost always read them as saying they are solo queuing or picking up trade channel pugs for arena and hating it. If you have 2-4 friends to play with (even one good friend) and you can see through the garbage it is a lot of fun.

If you do either have at least one friend, or you make at least one friend you can have fun in each PvP setting. You just have to approach them differently and temper your expectations in reality.

BGs, if your team is not working together and it is obviously going to be a loss, don't rage and fume and get mad. Just make it fun and laugh at how bad everyone is or look for 1v2s etc. It will still be fun and then you queue up again and get a totally different set of people to play with.

RBGs are actually quite fun mostly because everyone is actually trying so it boils down to skill levels and teamwork. You can win your way past bad players with some patience and this is the best way to make friends to pvp with.

2v2 means nothing but it is the most popular arena setting by far. Some times it will be impossible to win, sometimes you will lose because of something stupid. Accept the idiocy of 2v2 and just requeue and it will be fun.

3v3 is in a state right now where sometimes it can be very balanced and the superior team wins. There is a lot of looking through your combat log in orgrimmar because you have no idea why you suddenly died. I think as long as you don't care about your win/loss you can just accept the weird losses or the losses because your comp is wrong and move on.

5v5 is a joke and almost no one queues for it. You can have fun for laughs, but mostly it is just a joke.

The new team system is actually quite good for a guy like you. You can come back, level a character and start gearing him up very quickly. During the gear up phase you might make a friend or two, but once you can start getting into low level RBG groups you make friends across all servers and now you can arena with them without any restrictions. It is very nice, I would just make sure you have a realistic view of what is possible.

Well thank you for your help. I think I'm going to just go through all my Skype friends and figure out who plays. See if any of them still do and just join one of them.
