    New Build + Mobo/Ram Question

    Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
    MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87
    RAM
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case
    Corsair 760W 80 PLUS Platinum Certified ATX12V / EPS12V

So far this is the build I've come up with and I'm open to any suggestions. My question regarding ram and the mobo is about purchasing ram at a unsupported speed but within the range on the MSI Z87-GD45 board. I'll provide the information below so I don't need to add links.

    RAM
    Speed: DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)

    MSI Z87-G45
    Supported: DDR3 3000(OC)/2800(OC)/2600(OC)/2200(OC)/ 2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066

Will the ram lower itself to be supported? Also I'm open to any suggestions towards suitable ram. I've been eying the G.Skill Tridents which I've heard have great performance with the new Haswell. If you guys want to recommend a set I'm definitely open. (8gb or 16gb +1600Mhz).

Just get 1600 or 1866 memory. With haswell the higher your memory speeds the lower you max potential CPU overclock is, its a quirk with this generation. But to answer your question yes, all you do is go into you bios and under memory settings you choose "use xmp profile" then it will set it to the speed the ram kit advertises (given you bought a kit that has an xmp profile).

I bought this ram 2 years ago when it had almost no ratings on newegg and as it turned out i now have the highest rated ram on newegg lol:

Whats crazy is i got this for 55 bucks two years ago, heh.

Here is a video on how little ram speeds matter:

PSU is super crazy overkill. An SSD should also be a no brainer with your budget. I'd also steer clear of Seagate on the desktop side and stick with Western Digital. Much more reliable.
    i7-4770k - GTX 780 Ti - 16GB DDR3 Ripjaws - (2) HyperX 120s / Vertex 3 120
    ASRock Extreme3 - Sennheiser Momentums - Xonar DG - EVGA Supernova 650G - Corsair H80i
