Of course he was horrible, and he should be reviled for his acts. But more importantly, his legacy is being continuously built upon today in cases such as the Black Hills case, and unlike Columbus's atrocities, the ongoing wrongdoing is something people today can do something about.

We know! We hear about it every single year and the only reason we even give this holiday any meaning is because it is a federal holiday meaning many people have a day off. Also we know the vikings were possibly the first Europeans to visit at least North America. (There is a possible theory that ice bridges during the ice age could have allowed for migration from both Russia into Alaska/beyond and Europe into Canada/beyond). We also know Chris was a dick.
