AMD FX 6100 vs. I3-3220 for gaming

Was wondering which one would be the best for BF4 and future games? Both are about the same price. The AMD is 6 cores and the I3 is only 2 with hyper threading, but I've read that the I3 may still be better with games that use 4 cores? Anyone have any firsthand knowledge?

I have an FX 6300 in another system and it does really well, overclocks to 4.5ghz easily not sure about the 6100 though.

My GF uses it to play games etc and its playing all major games at high to ultra 1080p settings with an old gtx 580 ...so yea it does ok

    BF4 BETA CPU Bench: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...e,3634-10.html

Tomshardware didn't test the FX-6300, but it likely sits somewhere midway between the FX-4170 and the FX-8350, near where the i3-3220 is.

Old school FX-6100 would be slower than the FX-6300, so the i3-3220 would be slightly better than the FX-6100.

On the other hand, the GPU tested by Tomshardware is the GTX Titan so either CPU would be sufficient for GPUs up to at least $300.
