I like the place also and it is very useful.
I hope they upgrade the stuff we can do on the farm to reflect the new content.
At the moment that farm is the only thing on Azeroth which is player-owned. Would be cool to update it and keep using it.
The sad part is though I read somewhere they don't want to develop it any further. So further upgrading the whole farm won't happen (unless they change their minds off course) but I do hope for new seeds.
Most likely they will just give us another version of the farm, for example if we were going to outland in the next expansion we would have a horticulture dome and we could create mats/ingredients for that next expansion.
I hope they just have something similar in the next expansion. While it's been pretty repetitive and boring at times, the farm has provided me with a quick way to gather some resource I would rather not farm or buy including, trillium for my living steel cooldown and herbs for my raiding flasks. Also, Nomi is a little pimp!
If I could go back to the start of the expansion, I'd probably have 3 or 4 alt farms running right now.

You assume there will be a farm next expansion. You cannot know for sure.

Honestly, I'd rather they scrap the farm and just implement player housing. Then you could have a garden where you can plant your herbs as a the farm replacement.
I really hope they expand the farming concept that you are able to plant a farm on ANY in game farm, similar to how you set your hearth.
For example, the farm with the friendly abom in Western Plaguelands, or perhaps Tarren Mill, or south of Darkshire.
It would be a phased location so you don't need to worry about local mobs.
It'd be great for RP reasons.
