hmm... remember in cata when we had to run to dunegons again? total failiure. I see this, but then make it easy and account wide. (not too easy, but like others said a scenario or somthing should do it. not too long not too easy and not too much questing and for gods sake not rare drop rate!)
Maybe I'll go as far as spec wise, but many people have alts and simply having an alt doesn't mean you can play it.
Just personally I have my main which I can use, and plenty of alts I wouldn't want to inflict on other people.
Given how open players are to take any advantage they can get in any system, what's to stop a good healer becoming attuned and then taking the DPS he's terrible with into whatever the attunement allows them into?
Short version - attunements around quests, scenarios and the proving grounds (if they were more relevant) I think are a good things, so long as it's something a person can do on their own (TBC was horrible..) but I'd say it has to reflect a role and toon rather than be at the account level.
I don't mind some attunements. It just sucks when you end up having to back farm old content to get new players into your current tiers progression. If it is attainable in the world and not a huge RNG / weeks upon weeks grind then it is ok.
Only if account wide.
Currently my alt is struggling simply because he hit 90 ~4 weeks go and didn't have a chance to get meta/cloak yet (even tho i got it on 2 other toons) which is just pointless waste of time at this point, combined with the fact that i can't even use the weapon enchant when i get it.
Attunements in the form of questing are far more interesting than having to grind LFG until you have an ilvl.
Though, attunements are poor when you're required to do something that players are unwilling to do, which they always were. (Go right to the end of BRD, end of UBRS, Alcatraz etc)
Make attunements solo and group experiences that people are always willing to do using the features we have in modern WoW.
Warlock green fire quest should be a template for Attunements. Tell us the story and give us the reasons to raid in a linked chain that ends with a solo scenario where you have to fight challenging bosses.
Can't be Kanrethad level difficulty as you're dealing with all classes so it can't have ability specific mechanics.
This would be wonderful to players like me.
Awesome sig by Elyaan is awesome.
I read somewhere on a blue's Twitter about this.
Blizzard were talking about bringing these back in the form of the Proving Ground's 'challenges'. I definitely like the idea if they can implement and tune this right, as I'm sure many people can agree that we need something to really test these people. As far as the difficulty goes, let's also be realistic and considerate of new players by and not forcing them to do 50+ waves of endless.
Couple heroics and quests as attunement was reasonably easy for many players. After all everyone raided Karazhan back then.
If it is at reasonable difficulty level and account wide, it would be a fine addition to the game to streamline progression instead of using iLevel to meet the same goal as we do now. Can't deny that quest chains are more immersive and fun than iLevel.
Solo scenarios seem best for attunements. I don't mind them if they're not asking a lot or being overly grindy.
Greetings, WoW community. I have been monitoring your progress into dangerous amounts of stupidity and unfocused anger.
You appear to display extreme symptoms of hate for everything, gross entitlement and an advanced delusion of nostalgia, commonly known as vanilla fever. I recommend lots of rest, that you unsubscribe without announcing it to everyone and I'd like to administer 300cc's of lighten the fuck up and some pills of the chilling out nature. - Doctor Common Sense
