Not to mention watching shaky camera videos, that are blurry and has awful sound isn't exactly fun :P
I've watched streams of it for the past three years on various others streaming the video. They're not shaky cameras recording with low quality, they're the stream from Blizzard, re-streamed. Sure, the quality might drop from 1080p to 720p, but it's just as good overall. The info is the same and it's free. Sure I miss out on the additional stuff the stream gives, but $40 for a mini pet and a hearthstone card is idiotic. You know what they say though, "A fool and his money are soon parted."

Additionally, MMO and other sites have that information posted within a minute, tops as to what the new everything is. Again, there's no reason to actually buy it unless you like throwing money away.

Save a few bucks and get most of the same info, or pay a little and get all of it.

Yes, eventually everything will be out. Obviously it will, nobody is claiming otherwise.
Some of us (me included) are a bit picky. I don't mind people calling me a fool, I'll pay the small price for the extra convenience of having it all right away, in the same place and better quality.

Mini pet, hearthstone card and the other in-game rewards are just added perks, i'd still buy the ticket without any extra perks. For the same price.
Because it is worth it, and I can spare the cash. If I couldn't then obviously things would be different.

If you can't afford it to that point, you shouldn't even be asking about it.

I picked it up because I like the in game swag, and I enjoy watching all the side stage Q&A's. Watching the Red Shirt Guy own Metzen live at the lore panel was more than worth the price.

How soon after stuff's been announced will I be able to read about it here on mmo-champion?
Will blizzard have any free streams at all? (All I wanna see is the "World of Warcraft: What's Next", "World of Warcraft: The Adventure Continues" and possibly "Warcraft Movie Presentation")

From what I recall in the past it usually takes about 1-2 hours for information to hit the site. All depends on how much information there is and how many panels are going on at the same time. I know this year there are some conflicting ones like WoW/Hearthstone and WoW/Heroes.

Is the virtual ticket worth it? Depends on if you want the in game goodies and the ability to watch the stream on your computer with outside issues.

If there was, you won't be finding links or mentioning of them here on the forums. If any links are put in they'll be removed.

If you want all the infos and the exact wording what the devs said, theres no alternative.

Its always some kind of weird, that month later after blizzcons, often some things get discussed on forums, which had been exactly clarified on the blizzcon.
(Sometimes even by people who saw the livestream, but misunderstood the speaker)

And without the seeing the livestream, you will miss all the little jokes and references from the devs.
The devs always seemed a lot more friendly and talky on the panels, as on their postings, blogs, etc.
    I LOVE the open Q&As.

I was thinking hard about purchasing the virtual ticket, but I really wanted others suggestions and opinions on it to see if it's actually worth the $40.

I am most definitely just going to keep up to date with fan sites and forums like these.

Spending money on a virtual ticket is more or less the same decision to spend the money to go to Anaheim and see it for real, just on a smaller scale. If you want a sense of experiencing the thing live as it happens along with the surprises that will happen along the way then spend the money. If you don't get that or that sense of being there--even virtually--doesn't do anything for you then it's probably something you don't need to do.

If all you're interested in is the news, then don't. That will be available pretty much in real time at any rate.

Really, it's like going to a baseball game (once removed since you'll be watching instead of actually going). There are a lot of reasons to do it that have nothing to do with the fact that you can see the boxscore that night on the news or read about it online or in the paper the next day.

I've bought virtual tickets in the past and do so for some SF conventions now and then. It's fun and if done right the next best thing to being there. In some ways it's better than being there since you don't have to hassle with crowds, paying ridiculous prices for food and lodging or anything else.

I decided to get Virtual Ticket for the first time I always wanted to, but went cheap on it and just ferociously F5'ing MMO-C front page. And now I'm wondering about the goodies. Do you get them after Blizzcon? Or after they patch them in to the game before Blizzcon?

if they are that tight for money, playing a sub based video game isnt for them either. id say they need to prioritize their finances better. to the rest of us that have the money to enjoy a hobby, 40 dollars isnt too bad of a price for a rare event.

As far as i remember each year are ppls that are streaming the event for free.

I've just bought the ticket for the first time to give it a try - past years I've always thought it wasn't worthwhile but following on fansites doesn't always feel that accurate to me - I usually have MMO-C and WoW Insider both open and often find they contradict each other or one gives a detail the other didn't, and I'm left wondering which is right. Tried the free streams a couple of times, but they always start buffering right when the most interesting info comes out and you miss it, so it's not very satisfying really.

So given all that, plus the fact that I now play three Blizzard games instead of just one (picked up D3 and Hearthstone over the last year or so), it seems worth a try. If I don't think it's worth it, I won't buy it again, but I reckon it's worth trying once anyway.

$40 to watch what will be in youtube/websites in a matter of minutes is a rip off. $40 is a new game, a Skyrim, not getting the virtual ticket.

If Activision wants my money, they better start making good games.

1080p live translation (+available for 2 weeks after blizzcon) vs blurry bitrate starved 240p (often get shutdown in few minutess) for free... yea, rip off indeed

It's pretty silly to compare 15 dollars for monthly access to a video game to 40 dollars to watch something on your computer purely for the information you get out of it when that information will be posted on websites within a minute anyway. It's not like paying money to watch a boxing match or something where you get to see them duking it out. You're paying 40 bucks to watch some guys sit on a stage and go through a powerpoint presentation.

Last year I remember seeing info almost instantly.

I'm getting the ticket; so my wife and I can re-watch the stuff, without having to troll YouTube for clips.
