Weak aura help, internal cooldown bug with alter time

Hey guys, I'm trying to make a weak aura to show the internal cooldown for my immersus trinket. I made a nice one that starts counting down from 115 when the aura is applied. However alter time is bugging it. I tried alternative addons like NeedToKnow and they have the same bug.

When I use alter time with less then 6 sec remaining on the buff, the buff falls off during alter time and is applied again afterwards. This causes the weak aura and also similar internal cooldown tracking addons like NeedToKnow to reset the ICD back to 115. This isnt the case however since the ICD doesnt reset on alter time.

Does anyone have suggestions how to fix this problem? I currently use the combat log entry 'Spell aura applied' to trigger my internal cooldown, and basically I want to tell weakaura to never ever reset the ICD timer. Not even when a second 'spell aura applied' event occurs.

The trinket doesn't proc right after ICD expires anyway, coz its a bitch of a trinket. I wouldn't worry about this kind of stuff, honestly

    Short answer: You can't.
Long answer: Maybe try to make something as to identify when the aura is at its maximum duration so it the bug will only happen if you use Alter Time at the exact second the trinket procs.

I.e. purified bindings of immerseus procs Expanded Mind with 20s duration, Weakauras registers it and starts tracking its icd, you use Alter Time at least 1 second after you've acquired Expanded Mind. Upon expiration, you'll still have Expanded Mind with a duration fewer than 20s therefore it doesn't trigger your weakaura tracker.

As to how to do it, that's not my department.

You can easily do it in TellMeWhen - Alter time wont affect it there using the internal cooldown function.

Works well with NeedToKnow as well, I use it for all of my non-ability cd's as I just like the bar look and it's easier to spot without looking directly at it.

    NeedToKnow doesnt work.

Less then 6 seconds left on the trinket-->alter time--->trinket falls off--->alter time triggers-->ICD bar resets back to 115.

I've never used TMW but WA does it perfectly (at least for me) :

    Code:

You have to choose in the trigger tab : Event > Combat log > Spell > Aura applied and then manually tell WA that the ICD is 115s.

Try to use alter time when your trinket proc has 4 seconds remaining and tell me what happens with your ICD bar when alter time expires.

Ok, now I see what you wanted to say and I do have that bug too, crap. Actually I completely misunderstood you, I'm really sorry...

Anyway, if someone knows how to fix it, I'll be happy too ! (even if I want to say that I've never used alter time with an uptime that low on this proc)

It looks like it is for version 2 of weakauras, you should update.

Yeah you need to update your weakauras, the old version is no longer supported.

  15. #15
Remember you can update weakaura to v2 without loosing your auras. Just remove the weakaura folder from your'/interface/addon folder and install v2. As long as you only remove it from the interface/addon folder and dont mess around with the saved variables folder your old auras will remain.
