Those who usually do defend the police have a good reason to do so, in this case the cop was just either being a douche or is ignorant of what meth looks like.
Manufacturers have been known to disguise drugs like meth as candy to avoid detection,if i remember correctly there was something going around with the exact words "meth is being disguised as jolly rancher candies". So the cop in theory could have suspected him of being a tweeker and this being the case, though i would say the cop was more likely being difficult.
