A perception of the Casual WoW audience

To be taken with a dash of salt.

    Vanilla:
Let’s try a 45 min. start run again!
Joe needs to get attuned for MC.
    Anyone want to run UBRS?
    We’re running MC?

    BC:
(WIPE) Let’s just skip Sepethrea and go kill Pathaleon.
Joe needs to get attuned for Kara.
Sally needs to get attuned for Kara.
Anyone want to run Kara now that attunement was dropped?

    WotLK:
    Yay, Naxx down!
    Yay, Crazy Cat Lady down!
    Yay, Putri down!

    Cata:
(WIPE) Let’s just skip Drahga and go kill Erudax.
    Let’s go to BWD. (WIPE)
    Let’s go to BoT. (WIPE)
    Yay, LFR!

    MoP:
(said to self) Time to daily rep grind.
(said to self) Time to LFR.
    Huolon up!
    Yay, Flex!

There are plenty of casual players, like myself, who dabble in heroic raiding. It doesn't have to be specifically flex or LFR.

Yep. My guild was always somewhere between the casual and heroic level. We weren't a server first guild by far, but we always managed to eventually get all of the normal mode stuff cleared and down at least a few heroic/hardmode bosses (usually falling just short of the particularly hard or end bosses) by the end of the content patch. Raiding 4-8 hours a week and having lots of consistency/attendance problems kept us from going much beyond that.
