No words can describe how utterly stupid your statement is. If you believe that then you don't know the tank mechanics. You need 2 tanks for Immerseus at the start at least due to stacking debuff, you need 2 tanks for Protectors cause you can't tank both at the same time. Norushen the tank gets banished which means the boss is going to smack either the 2nd tank or random raid members. There are also so many adds that you sometimes cannot even taunt them all on CD (which is IMO a shit mechanic for LFR). Sha of Pride, I'm not sure, I think I solo tanked that one. Galakras, you need a tank downstairs while the other tank is up. Iron Juggernaut does a stacking debuff, while the other tank does the mines (minor CD prefered there). Dark Shamans stacking debuff. Nazgrim stacking debuff, adds. Malkorok I forgot, does involve a tankswap. Spoils, obviously 2 groups. Thok, stacking debuff. Siege, stacking debuff, adds. Klaxxi, massive damage. Garrosh, stacking debuff. All these statements are true for an ilvl 500 tank. Most of them are true for a better geared tank as well although I can imagine my ilvl 496 blood DK solo tank Immerseus with good raid damage. You play a protection paladin. If by competent tank you mean an overgeared protection paladin who BoPs debuffs and one which does the Norushen gauntlet in 1,29 seconds straight then yes. Which is one class, and an overgeared tank, who knows how to BoP themselves.
