    PoPP - exact workings?

Allright, after aquiring this gem (FINALLY) during this weeks farm, I took it for a spin on Thok heroic. The results I got was somewhat insane, and I was wondering if I have completly misunderstood the trinket. Here's the log of Thok from me for this week:
    http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r.../5/?s=23&e=524

    and from last week:
    http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/b...?s=1295&e=1867

Now, the thing that has me surprised, is the amount of power my Divine Aegis seem to have gotten. From 125K average last week, till 147K average this week per hit.
The main differences in the two logs are these:
-Last week had a slightly lower uptime on ToF, with a slightly higher uptime on my trinket int-proc (Cha Ye's 530 - named mastermind). These two should offset each other, pretty much, making the difference minimal.
-Last week we had 8 healers, this week we had 7. The healer in question is a resto shaman. I can't see a reason that he would ever be able to affect the power of my absorbs, so this shouldn't be it (although it obviously explains some of my extra HPS).

Now, how I figured the trinket would work was this -
trinket amplifies my initial crit heal with 9% (EG, 100K becomes 109K).
The crit heal then becomes an absorb, and multiplied by mastery (let's say 50% absorb mastery) - so 109K*1.5=163.5K absorb.

This would lead to an increase of 9% in my divine aegis power (from 150K to 163.5K).
However, what I'm seeing in the log is closer to 18% (16%, to be exact) - what you would expect if the trinket double dipped like this:
    100K initial crit.
    9% amp = 109K crit.
    9% amp = 118.8K absorb.
    50% mastery = 178K absorb.

So have I completly misunderstood how the trinket works initially? Does it actually count both the initial critical heal, AND the following absorb as a critical hit, thus proc'ing the +heal amplification twice?
Mind that now that I've seen the logs, this is how I think it works - and it'd make sense, too, considering the fact that our critical heals are half as strong as any other healers in part DUE to the absorbs. It just kind of came as a surprise, and I'd like confirmation.

And if the above is true, does it then "tripple"-dip from DPS? EG:

    100K initial crit.
    9% amp = 109K crit.
    90% atonement heal = 98.1K
    9% heal amp = 107K.
    9% absorb amp = 116.5K.
Instead of just ending at 107K?
    Much appreciated :d!

Amp trinket only amplifies the critical portion of your heal/atonement.

So if you crit for 100k and normally hit for 50k, it'll amp 50k of that.

    100k crit = 50k * .09 = 4500
    Post amp crit = 104500

I don't believe it buffs the DA healing directly, just the initial smite hit, which obviously results in a higher DA; I did some testing completely naked and with PPoP (flex version 2/2 upgraded). Note: This healing was done on myself resulting in a 50% reduction to atonement.

    Naked
    Average smite crit: 10036
    Average atonement crit heal: 2403
    Average DA: 2710
Atonement--> DA increase: 12.8%, which is baseline mastery

    PPoP
    Average smite crit: 10382
    Math (using non PPoP crit): ((10036/2) * .0668137) + 10036 = 10371
    Average atonement crit heal: 2486
    Math using smite crit: ((10382/2) * .45) * .0668137) = 2491
    Math estimate (using non PPoP crit) shows: ((2403/2) * .0668137) + 2403 = 2483
    Average DA: 2803
Math estimate (if ppop increased DA heal) using atonement crit heal shows: ((2486 * .128) * .0668137))= 2991

As you can see only the atonement heal is increased, and not the DA healing (directly).

You are more ideally placed to test this than I am, see as how you have one.

One thing I do notice is that you're neglecting the extra 9% mastery.

    No PPoP crit:
    100k base heal.
    100k heal + 100k aegis * (1 + 50% mastery) =
    100k heal + 150k aegis =
    250k total.

    PPoP crit:
54.5% mastery due to the 9% mastery component.
This raises the base heal to 101.8k.
    101.8k base heal.
    111k heal + 111k aegis * (1 + 50% mastery * 1.09) =
    111k heal + 111k aegis * (1 + 54.5% mastery) =
    111k heal + 171.4k aegis =
    282.4k total.

This predicts a 171.4 / 150 -1 = 14.3% aegis increase. The relative rise in aegis size would be higher if you actually have more than 50% mastery raid buffed (without it).

I think Mastery might be the culprit here. Completly forgot to consider it, and I sit well above 50% raidbuffed (leading to the 16% increase rather than 14.3%).
Thanks for the clarification, wasn't sure what exactly was going on :d.

There was a pretty in-depth post on healiocentric about amplification trinkets a while back if you're still interested: http://healiocentric.wordpress.com/2...inkets-in-5-4/
