Kill the tricksters to the west of the mogu area (where the gate to kun lai is) in the Vale. They drop tons of greys and not a bad spot to get greens. They also drop skyshards which can get you another mount once you collect 10.

I was doing the Zanalari Library Card achievement earlier and ended up with a shitload of motes on me (and lesser charms). It's a pretty good place to farm as it's quick to kill anything there.

Turtles at windward isle, can gather a bunch (Battle Horn ftw) and AoE them down, result is:
Turtle meat (can turn for tillers marks)
Motes
Greens etc.
And skins, provided that you have that profession.

While I was doing the Darkspear weekly, I saw I was getting a lot. Of course I was killing a lot of mobs as well

The barrens, they drop like crazy. Just pull about 10 mobs, aoe them down -> repeat.
Doing this on my Mistweaving Monk, I never die and I chainpull everything. It's awesome.
got about 5 spirits just by doing the weekly and killing about 500 mobs.

Pretty much anywhere there's a high density of level 90 mobs; as people have mentioned, Dread Wastes, Isle of Thunder, Barrens (if you're doing the weekly) are all good places to start.
If you have a person or two that's willing to tag along, I would also throw out the idea to farm dinos on Isle of Giants. Won't be the fastest way to farm motes, but you will get those, bones towards the pet/mount, and possibly leather/scales. If you are strictly going for motes, though, the other recommendations are better.
