So I've been thinking, at this moment the raiding game is all about displaying your skill versus others, but is this what we find most interesting about an MMO. I'd rather see the old days where the game wasn't all about logging in for raid and being facking good in games. It was about dedication, making your character the best it can possibly be, yes the encounters were easy, but they were the reward that you got for everything you did in the game, not just that night.
Basically I think raid encounters are to hard atm, they should be easier, but they should be gated by gear. Gear that is really hard to get, mats you have to farm get make a leatherworking blue that will be used for end game progression.. The game should revolve more about getting ready and making your character the best it can be. The grind up until raiding should be a means to an end, but currently the means is 90% missing. This makes the game more fun for hardcore and casual players in my opinion. The steps a casual player and a hardcore player go through will be similar, the speed is what varies.
Raiding shouldn't be something we can jump into, it's something that you do when you prepared your character for months and feel ready to test your character's capabilities with others versus raid bossies..
(Don't get me wrong though, i raid heroic and currently play to get high WoL ranks and stuff, It's just that i find this missing part of the game entreating)
