In a pvp pov, being able to stay in meta permanently might seem broken given the defensive aspect of meta as well as how easy it is to spam and throw instant dmg around.

Sigh I really hoped they'd do something about instant casts , I guess WOD will end up worse than MOP pvp wise.

Tbh the doomguard does less damage then my imp does, not sure how usefull this will be
For demo resources seems pretty awesome, losing 30% of meta damage isnt that much when we're reaching 120% bonus dmg raidbuffed, but maybe they could fix ToC's lack of haste scaling?

Hell.. who is to say that Chaos Bolt won't become a 1s spell with reduced dmg?
There will be so many changes that it more than useless to discuss how future talents might work with our mechanics right now.

Perma Doomguard? That's like having an imp on steroids. And if you don't like that you can simply go with a buffed version of haunt or fun AoE talent. How is this not fun?
    What if you sacrifice him?

When you press Grim of Sac, it will sacrifice one of people in your party at random instead.

They're probably going to have to remove the Doomguard/Infernal as a cooldown then, or will we literally be able to summon three of them if we spec service + servitude?

Considering how pathetic the damage is right now, they're gonna need to seriously buff the doomguard to at least normal supremacy levels of damage, probably higher.

This should equal some serious burst on the pull I should think.

i think new demon give not only damage (buffed), but also special ability. Doomguard and infernal become controllable like other minor demons.

true but I think what people are trying to say is , if inferno/ DG become permanent they've gotta be so powerful to the point where using a single inferno/DG is equal to having another talent in that tier + the normal inferno / DG summoned, unless they change the way inferno/DG works as a cd, that's another story.

Didn't at least the Doomguard used to have other abilities Doombolt when it was a ritual summon spell ? Can't for the life of me remember what they were anymore, tho

Found it: Cripple (movement / attack speed debuff) and Rain of Fire

True, but on the other hand you are giving up 30% of your burst damage and I think you still want to switch between forms to apply Corruption and your single target curses.

You can keep Corruption up with ToC, only if new targets come into the fight you will need to get out.

But yes bring on the perma-DG! (:<
It's a pretty much worthless talent, you're better off taking the permanent Doomguard, or Cataclysm combined with Mannoroth's Fury for AoE.

Why the hell would anyone want a 3-second cast time spell as their main source of damage. It might be viable if Kil'jaeden's Cunning worked with Chaos Bolt.

Yeah, my guess is they won't be dps cooldowns if you have them as perma pets.

Look, just because the Devs sometimes make mistakes, it doesn't mean they're stupid.

If the talent does indeed add the Doomguard and Infernal to your pet summon bar while taking away the guardian temp-pet versions, then the summon versions will have utility abilities like other pets and have damage balanced around baseline pet + lvl100 talent boost + missing guardian cooldown. The utility abilities may not end up being very useful or interesting. The damage balancing may not end up balanced compared to skillful use of the guardian cooldown. But they're not going to overlook such basic things to the point of not even trying.

I fully expect to see revised versions of some of the old Doomguard abilities make a return. For reference those were: Rain of Fire (AoE), Cripple (snare + melee attack slow), Dispel (Purge/Cleanse), and War Stomp (AoE stun). I'm not sure what to expect out of the Infernal, since AoE damage is what makes the Felguard/Wrathguard special. Improved tank with strong AoE aggro?

It'll only happen if it's a very small, felhunter sized pitlord.

one problem with permanent Meta form is that you still have to stance dance out of meta to apply Corruption to every new target that shows up,

not that you didn't have to before, but Chaotic Resources will not entirely eliminate stance dancing, just reduce it significantly.

also i wonder if we would use Chaos Wave instead of Shadowflame.... (???)

i think i would use Chaotic resources for single target Raid bosses or for soloing, but not for multi-target encounters
i would imagine that a permanent Infernal pet is the better choice for Cleave and Council and AoE-type encounters .

This! please, this is exactly how blizzard balances all the other talents. people need to show a little faith that they are are going to atleast try to balance the choices!

I wonder how Grimoire of Sacrifice will interact with Demonic Servitute, afterall it interacts with soul link, so you could imagine the devs would make it interact with DS (my guess is that GoSac+Demonic Servitute would result in a stronger +damage Bonus)

also if Grimoire of Supremacy stacks with Demonic Servitude, does that mean we get permanent Terrorguards and Abyssals as pets? (DO WANT, i will absolutely run my Destro Lock with a permanent Abyssal!!!)

Yeah, people have been begging for this guy since (at least) Kanrethad....but you're never gonna have a pet that big in a group situation. Imagine the melee tears.

The thing I've been thinking about ( which was also written in another post ), is the following:

If blizzard balances all level 100 talents to provide a very close if not equal dps gain , then assuming that obtaining a permanent DG/inferno will also remove our guardians completely , it would be balanced around us having no guardians + another lvl 100 talent in that tier in terms of overall dps , but then you think about talents like supremacy which also buff dg/inferno dmg, it double dips causing the talent to be superior in terms of dps, unless blizzard makes it so having supremacy is a must to be EQUAL in terms of dps when comparing to other talents, in which case it would be inferior if you do not pick supremacy which somewhat narrows our choices when it comes to that talent.

My fear is that Demo will be pigeonholed to getting perma Demo to be even remotely viable in PvP. Those 2.5 second shadowbolts are not even rewarding to cast!
