The announcement trailers shown at blizzcon have never been cgi.. always in-game gameplay.
The cinematic is released just before the game itself releases

there have been events at which the trailers were revealed though, but they were not Blizzcon and certainly not at the reveal of the Expansion itself.

Announcement trailers have never been CGI. Always machinima style. The only CGI announcement trailer I can remember was SC2.
