If you discovered a way, to however, upload your mind into a computer's database, would you do it? There, you would technically exist forever and be immortal in that space you live in. The cost of this however, is you are forever alone, and trapped in a space of blank darkness and numbers, and your only source of communication are the people who turn on the computer. Exactly! It will be a clone, it wouldn't be the original you, the original you would still be dead. Now, if they managed to transport my entire brain along with the spine in a mecha-body, then yes, I might be up for it, otherwise... it's just creating a clone of me.
