Can we please get over the stigma that "vanilla players" have more credibility when it comes to how the game should and should not move forward? Get over yourselves you pretentious cunts. I played during vanilla, but not seriously. I never got to cap. Does that make me beneath you?
Not to mention(I'm sure there's a language barrier here, but) I cant understand half of what the options are trying to say.
WoD is exactly what people have been asking for for the past few years, Ppl wanted BC, you got draenor, ppl wanted locked large size epic heroic raiding, they got mythic, they wanted icc style difficulty breakdown, they got it. The storyline is true warcraft; a story that hasnt been told since warcraft 1 and 2. I am SUPER excited.

Even if I did cancel my subscription a few times, but those were only for ~3 months max.Yes i play till vanila and i never stoped my sub. I will buy it.
This expansion looks very promising.
I started playing on day 1 EU release and never stopped longer than a couple of months. I didn't "skip" any expansions, but I did miss 2 raid tiers (naxx classic and sunwell)
I voted yes on buying it and that's what I'm going to do. I gotta say though, I don't get as upset anymore due to changes to the game than I used to - I simply have other things to worry about (RL) which wasn't really the case when I started out as a schoolkid living at home. Of course I would change a couple of things if I could, but I still think WoW is very good value for the money I pay, especially when compared to all the other games I've played during the last 10 years and never touched again. Even if I add up all the hundreds upon hundreds of hours I spent on my favorite genre (FPS, and that includes all of UT, all of Quake, all of CS, Bf3+4, a bit of CoD and a shitload of singleplayer shooters), it doesn't come close to the hundreds of DAYS I spend on wow for less money
So many QoL issues dealt with in this expansion, on top of that, the promise of new raids and revisiting characters that I love (Ner'Zhul/Gul'Dan are amazing, also Kargath looks like a total bad ass.)
Slightly sad about no new races, but the new models make it more than worth it.
This expac is very controversial so far, and I don't like some of the announcements. Tertiary stats and the entire removal of reforging are both bad ideas, for instance. Others, such as mythic 20, will destroy guilds, but are probably better for the raid game. The separate mythic and heroic lockouts will be harmful.
Garrisons will be good if they can avoid making them into a cash shop exclusive. 10k per upgrade or five bucks counts as a cash shop exclusive.
From that poll it seems everyone is playing since classic lol...
English is not my main language so grammar errors might happen.
Played vanilla and all expansions, quit somewhere in december last year because i was getting bored, had simply played the game for too long and some things were getting tedious.
Am going to return in WoD, however, because it looks very promising and i have seen many things they are doing that i find great. Probably need to get a friend to use a scroll on me so i can check out what timeless isles was about though, seemed fun concept from the way it was described to me.
The removal of hit/exp/dodge/parry, and less items enchanted and gemmed seems great. Honestly, when i got an upgrade in cata/MoP all i could think was "great, now i have to enchant, gem and reforge it, what a pain". With this, i think getting new gear will be more fun again, since i won't have to feel so annoyed if i get a small upgrade anymore.
For some reason though, the MoP lore never felt fully as interesting as the other lore. The new lore appearing in WoD seems much more appealing to me. If the new expansion proves to be a failure gameplaywise then i can at least play it for a while to experience the new lore~~
On the point of character models:
They never promised any new character models. They talked about how they wanted to implement them but had no estimate on when that would happen. That does not mean they lied to us, it just meant they were unsure when the models would happen.
I'm thinking about quitting again, as I usually do at the end of an expansion. This time though I really think it's time to move on from this butchered game. And if I have to farm SoO for another 6+ months, I'm 100% sure I'll quit and won't come back this time. I'm done. Insta 90s, Mythic 20man instead of 25man, only 4 leveling dungeons, itemsquish.....the flaws are too much this time and I cba anymore.
I don't think I'll play another MMORPG , kinda tired of the genre, it isn't immersive enough anymore for me and quite frankly the community these days in videogames is rotten and not what it used to be, which is a very important part of an MMORPG.

You don't like how this game evolved over the years, which is totally okay. You think the next expansion will be just bad, which is also okay, 'cause it's just your oppinnion. I played back in classic, took a break for university in BC and came back in WotLK, playing since 3.0 till now w/o any break. Back in 2005 Classic was great, looking at it now, I must say it was really the worst period of WoW I've ever played. Wrath was okay, a bit too easy when it comes to raids (with the exception of Ulduar and Lich King HC). Cata was a big disappointment, although the first raiding tier war kinda okay. But MoP is a really great expansion, even the terrible daily grind in the beginning is not enough to call it bad. Great raids, a fun playing new class, a good story.
Warlords of Draenor... hm... I don't know... I'm really not that hyped as I was when Cata or MoP was revealed. This timetravelling-parallel-universe-story is kinda weird and traditionally I don't like such storylines. Also the convertion to 20 men raids is something I really dislike, the removing of gear enhancements like reforging too. So I will see... I think I'll buy the expansion and give it a chance, but if(!) it turns out to be bad, well, I don't think I will then play WoD for very long.

I never played tanks but I do wholeheartedly agree on the hit/exp issue. I remember back in vanilla reading about "resists" that are in fact "misses" on mobs higher than me, so I started gathering the few decent spell-hit items that were ingame back then and felt rightfully superior to my fellow warlock friends that were sitting at the bottom half of the dmgmeters. But ever since "GET HIT-CAPPED ASAP" is at the start of every guide for every DD class and there's more than enough items (too many in my opinion) to get there, it just feels redudant. I mean a week or two at max level into a new expansion a char will be hit-capped for the rest of said expansion, it's just pointless
I was mad when Blizzard announce MOP, Pet Battles, Changes of Talents...
Now, I'm happy with everything Blizzard announce in Blizzcon, every games will be better!
To all nostalgia people:
The game is infinitely better today than it was before. They screwed up badly with Cataclysm. MOP was a great expansion, and even as a TBC hardcore junkie I'd vote for it as the best expansion if I didn't have my own nostalgia feelings in the way.
What many people don't understand that vanilla was great for it's time, and the game was new. Times change. Stuff that worked in 2004, mostly because people simply expected less in 2004, doesn't work anymore. The game is 9 years old, people know the ins and outs, Blizzard can't develop content faster than people explore it. The community obviously took a nosedive too, but that's really not Blizzard's fault and it's mostly the new generation of gamers that is coming in which grew up with games which were insanely easy but full of competetiveness like Halo and CoD, while the first batch of WoW players grew up with challenging single player games. In the end business is business and Blizzard has to somewhat go along with that new generation of gamers.
Alright, I'll chime in. My subscription has not lapsed for one month since January 2005 when I started.
Seems worth it to me. It's about what I expect from an expansion reveal thus far.Ok as you may know the new expansion is coming out soon. Do you think its worth our money or its just another moneygrab?
New character models. This is 18 new race models in a single expansion. Normally people drool and fawn over 2-4 new models with new races. So far i have only seen changes to worse and a huge moneygrab (i look at you new models).
You're entitled to your opinion, but you should probably back up with supporting reasons. The expansion fells to me like it was made from same guy who was in the toilet and got the idea for eye of storm battleground.
I think the efforts they are putting into Warlords of Draenor to make matchmaking (LFG/LFR) a last resort are meant to help strengthen community. And I really think the Group Finder browser they are going to be expanding may be a real sleeper feature that people are heavily overlooking. That could be a huge way to meet new players and do content you want together, which could form friendships, which yields bonuses running things together in the future. But no more! I just got sick of that. I have given blizzard a chance to make a game better, but every patch is just geting worse. (its killing guilds and community)
Raids are meh = opinion. I've seen a lot of people who thought Throne of Thunder was a fantastic raid. Personally I've only done LFR for Siege of Orgrimmar, but it seems like a really good raid in my opinion.Raids are total meh..... (kill adds 98%), the time spend to get 1 item (or mount or title) is increased by a little too much, the legendary prince quest was a total s*** and i was expecting a burning legion expansion when i have seen a planet geting assaulted (on legendary chain).
Your expectations aren't a promise. I'm surprised the Legion isn't the next expansion as well, but also impressed they're foreshadowing beyond the next expansion with in game plot threads. It's something we should want more of, not less.
Your complaints for MoP going into WoD:Vanila, tbc and woltk were great (ok not the toc.. but icc was great), cata was a total meh and reharsh (killing this damn dragon for 2nd time) not to say they cut out a lot of stuff that would be great (that undeadwater raid). But pandaria...was a total waste of time for me...... i realy dont know why i was keeping to play it over the all patches (ok maybe because of guild..but not even that any more, its dying). Do that daily for 30 days, collect 6000 valors, do a very bad bosses (and i mean very bad made compared to old ones) over and over and over, not to say that grid charms to even have a chance on loot. (i end up with 3500 of them)
Dailies are almost nonexistent in the next expansion
Collect 6000 valor - we don't know how they're going to use valor yet
Very bad bosses - opinion
Grind charms - You weren't forced to do this, only your greed for faster loot than any other expansion forces you to do so and if you had 3500 then you had more than I'd say was ever necessary.
I didn't vote for you to represent me as a Classic WoW player, thanks.Well the *sheep* players dont care how betrayed us vannila players fell. To them everything fells new, to us its just a sh**** reharsh.
Y'know, here's the thing...look at human history. How much stuff happened in 100 years in England? One battle and then nobody ever set foot in England again for the rest of human history? Did wars happen repeatedly in Rome? I really don't see the problem with revisiting locations if the story has things happening there and they can present the area in new ways then that's great too. Cataclysm's revamp of old zones was really pretty awesome, one of the strong features of that expansion, but unfortunately drew away from the top level content. Revisiting Draenore, before its destruction, where the zones are COMPLETELY different than they were in Outland isn't really a rehash of old content.I MEAN COMMON--- OUTLAND AGAIN?????? What the hell they were thinking? To me it fells like they are not even trying any more and just milking the money.
Lore makes zero sense. Burdens of shaohao was a total....meh. (he turns into some light fog something)
Lore doesn't make sense for the new expansion or MoP? Mists had great lore behind it and it actually kinda did make sense. If you're familiar with mythology or stories of the fantasy genre, there's nothing in MoP that's just mind boggling weird.
Enjoy whatever MMO you decide to move to.And this is one the reasons i am quiting wow as soon as my sub runs out. (planing to make something for the end) FOR GOOD!
....and i will start fresh in another mmo that is coming soon. (get the soon joke?)
Final Fantasy XIV is pretty good, but admittedly it's very much like WoW, the same formula, but done quite well in my opinion. EQNext, if they can deliver, might be the next huge jump for the MMO genre.
Only one of four possible reasons for this horrible opening post:
1) Intoxicated posting. Please let this be the reason.
2) Foreigner unfamiliar to the language. If so, I apologize to you and I hope the teacher who taught you is fired. Enjoy this free lesson.
3) Troll. If so, good job. You got me.
4) Just plain stupidity... Please, I beg you, use a spell check the next time you make a topic. I just couldn't leave it the way it was.
Regardless of the reason, I fixed it for you. You're welcome.
