Question about stats on gear

After reading this, i've been trying to find the panel or a video from Blizzcon that talks about this subject, but i've been unable too.

If i'm understanding this correctly say for example i pick up a piece of gear as say, a resto specced druid, it will have intellect on and some other secondary stats, if i then go into the guardian spec, will the stats on that piece of gear change to match my new specilization, thus removing the need for me to gather an entirely new set of gear for my other spec?

I believe it's like that for tier gear. Along with the set bonuses changing as well.
