The fungal giants are more interesting to me now that I've seen the fungal whale. It's not even necessarily the 'true' form of the fungal giants, but the fungus itself may be an infinitely variable life-form that takes different shapes depending on where it lives, a colony of tiny fungal spores that arranges itself into a useful form. In the sea, it becomes a massive whale. On land, it becomes a lumbering giant. Different types might pop up in different environments.
