Well when you go diving you can't go below certain depths without specialised gear due to pressure differences fucking you up internally. Why would it be any different having a low pressure from a high pressure? If by some miracle you can protect the pressure barrier then you'll be ok, but you can't - certainly not for very long. Once that pressure is allowed to drop, the liquid will become a gas. Your blood vessels would explode, no? If an atheroma can do it I'm sure bubbles of gas will manage.

Various experiments and studies by NASA have debunked it, they also explain it far better than a stumbling arse like me can.

"Never" is an awfully long time. If our species lasts long enough, we almost certainly will. It's in our nature, and we'll do it for a lot of the same reasons we sailed across to all the corners of the world discovering and colonising the viable landmasses.

99% of space is just that... space :>
Maybe so, but even just that 1% would be worth it to the interested. Besides, I've heard some crazy stuff about folding space in on itself and other crazy science which might make the "immense distances" factor manageable one day. Maybe that'll all turn out to be bunk, but you never know. Technology we have today would have blown the mind of a person from a few thousand years ago, I fully expect the technology of the far future to be equally as mindblowing and unimaginable to us.

I don't generally say this, but I'd like to have sex in space.

Would this count for the mile high club?

Real answer: Search for viable planets to live on.

Obilgatory YOLO answer: Bust a nut into the void, and watch it slowly drift away for all eternity.
