Wow, a lot of people fail at lore here. Kil'jaeden encased Ner'zhul's soul in ice because he had made him far too powerful, and if Ner'zhul ever escaped, it would cause major problems for Kil'jaeden. Ner'zhul did escape and merged with Arthas, becoming the Lich King, who is more powerful than Kil'jaeden.

Sargeras isn't a demon, he's a space alien. He goes from planet to planet enslaving/recruiting the inhabitants. Kil'jaeden is a space alien, he's not some mighty creature from the bowels of hell. Yes, he has access to power, but he's not a god or even close to being one.

technically the lich king is also a space alien (actually multiple aliens). and not a god either.
Orc (alien) soul infused in armor created by Nathrezim (alien) and fused to the body and soul of a human (alien).
he has access to power but he's not a god and not even close to being one.
    .

When someone asks you if you're a god, YOU SAY 'YES'!

Raise some powerful mage from Dalaran or Silvermoon as Lich and you have all the knowledge you need about. There was nothing special about Kel'Thuzad compared to the rest of the Six, apart his lust of necromantic knowledge.

Mages have the power to create fireballs, but they can't do it until someone teaches them how.
They don't have it until someone don't teach that to them. They are mere mortals, and as such need to be instructed and taught to the ways of magic.

Ner'zhul didn't need to be "instructed" for create his first Death Knight. Indeed, he took "inspiration" from Gul'dan's Death Knights, but he has been able to create them thanks to the new powers have been bestowed upon him (since they have zero similtarities with Gul'dan's ones). Nor he needed "teaching" for generate the Plague and lead it by his throne.

The Lich King by himself, was just the Helm of Damnation, and Arthas was his most powerful champion, who proved himself by taking the souls of many... many powerful ppl, and giving them to the Lich King. By the Lich king basically old God imprisonment, so much of his power shackled away by his mortal form, but with a hoist, they could finally use all that power swimming around in the Scourge Network, through one being... arthas the lich king. With every soul he took, he became more powerful. And this leads to potential endless power. Kiljaeden is powerful, but if the lich king could take over 1 planet, that would easily put him on a lvl that could challenge even an old god or sargeras... imo...

if even what you're saying was true, that LK could take over 1 planet he would be able to challenge sarg etc, the fact remains that he didnt. he wasnt powerful enough to do that because he was defeated.

and there's nothing stating KJ doesn't gain more power, which he probably has, i doubt he has a peak power limit, and just stopped getting stronger when he created the LK.

Kil'jaeden gave him those powers. Kil'jaeden specifically instructed Ner'zhul to use a plague to turn people into undead bound to his will. There's even a delay from when KJ created the LK "until the time was right" when Kil'jaeden told him his mission.

You do realise Sargeras destroys worlds for fun? LK could build the biggest army imaginable and Sarg could wipe it out for the luls. LK would never reach that power.

Kil'jaeden told to Ner'zhul what to do and which goals he had to achieve. He didn't make to him some high-school teaching of necromancy. It's Kil'jaeden which granted Ner'zhul these powers by creating the Lich King and using his spirit for "guide it". Much of the stuff Ner'zhul has been able to do is tied to his psychic capabilities, and directing the Plague with the sole will from his throne all over Northrend is one of the things he did thanks to that.

No one in the universe could definetely reach Sargeras's level. The collective efforts of some Old Gods in their primal power could do something about it too.
