So about the Kor'kron Shaman set...

Does anyone else feel like they nerfed the drop chance of it? Because for the first two-three weeks it felt like everyone who killed shamans were getting it. I saw screenshots of 5 shamans getting it from ONE instance. And me and my shaman friend have now done it over 5 times, and nada.

From what I have heard the shaman chest works like legendary drops. Only 1 chance on one difficulty per week. So if you did it on normal it would be pointless to do it on flex again if you were just going for the set.

I saw it drop once on the first week of soo and it hasnt dropped ever since, even though we usually have 5 shamans in the raid.

summary what we know so far:

- the set drops as a chest called "Kor'kron Dark Shaman Treasure" from the boss as personal loot (much like Titan Runestones/Secrets of the Empire)

- only drops in flex, normal & heroic mode

- does not drop from any trash

- you only get one chance for this item to drop per week regardless of difficulty (1st time you kill Dark Shamans you get a chance, second time the same week no chance anymore)

- it is a very rare item (for me, very rare = ~5-7%)

- it looks amazing!


Basically the cache uses the same code like Titan Runestones/Secrets of the Empire. Only certain players are eligible to get a single chance per week.

what the GM said in german: the dropchance isn't 100% but a very rare drop.

Yep, it indeed seems to be a very rare drop, I've killed them on normal / hc every week since 5.4 release, didn't see it drop yet.

I'm a bit ashamed of my good luck this time. I came back from my break and did Flex with my guildies for the first time. First kill and got the set :P

Yes it's the full set with one drop. It's a bag/box that has 8 items in it.

PS. Make sure you have enough bag space if you get it and open it I didn't and it was a mess when I had to vendor stuff on a mammoth to fit them in my bag.

Anecdotal.. we have one regular shaman in our raid. We've killed Dark Shaman nine times on normal. He's received the set twice thus far.
