A: This is because the give me people just want to get token gear for not doing nothing but killing rare the drop in less the 5 seconds, what a challenge

Yeah, and doing a LFR (which is not lazy in your opinion) is actually progressing the story??? Get real. ENdgame MMORPG is basically always a grind fest, be it farming raids or farming stuff. Personally I like the Isle and hope they expand on the idea. You can just go about and do your stuff and discover things along they way. Which is fun, as opposed to going into the mine and killing stuff for days/weeks in a row. I actually don't mind doing the occasional grind on Timeless Isle while I disliked doing dailies and feeling I had to do them.... This si so much more freedom, and I totally disagree with almost everything you said.
Yea, at least all the LFR stuff tied into all the questing and 5.1-5.3 content, Timeless Isle barely touches on anything but a small portion of the emperor and is nothing but a grind not much to see and do there. Yea, they should just open more crap up for the give me crowd. There are already enough people complaining about the given epic in the LFR crowd, we need to give them away for doing absolutely nothing now, great idea.

See that is the problem with people like yourself you feel you have to do something instead of choosing to do something. No one makes anyone do a damn thing they do not want to do in this game, you yourself chose to do. I am hoping this is not the only concept in play here, because if it is, its going to be a very boring game to play.

Actually, come to think of it, ET for the Atari 2600 is one of, if not the, most universally panned game of all times. Far more so than Friday the 13th for the NES.

(And *cough* I've played and beaten both of them back in the day.)

So I know this is crazy but why can't we have both dailies and Timeless Isle like stuff?

I mean it is fairly clear from recent polls that the Timeless Isle is popular. Why not tweak it to make it appeal longer? Adding dailies into the mix seems like it could be a good idea. I mean that was part of the appeal from GW2 to me.

BUt as long as you can get gear, enchantments or whatever that improve your toon, people will feel like they need to keep up and log in every day.
I can tell you I do not feel I am being left behind if I do not login everyday, that is crap. If you feel that way then you feel that way in every game out there right now. Token gear is by no means decent gear, it is 5.0 content rep gear with a different ilvl that people are just to lazy to farm out themselves. If they simply would of created more dungeons between 5.1 and 5.3 they would have ever had to create Timesink Token Gear Isle in the first place. If some feel the need to keep up or are feel the are made to do something. They themselves are the ones forcing themselves to do things thing, no one else is making you do nothing you do not want to do. You just feel the need to be even more lazy then the person that goes AFK in the LFR.

I compete with no one except myself in this game, If I do not want to do something, I am sure as hell not going to do it. But if I am force into having to do stuff like Timeless Isle to progress through the xpac, then this is no longer an optional thing, it is a mandatory thing to have to go through. If they are going to make such places make them how they are now optional content, except take out the gear tokens for the give me people.

Regardless of this point, Blizzard still fails miserably cause it's only a matter of a week or two before former players realize - Wow is just painted rust.

I produced a Machinima video on Timeless Isle a few months ago. I intended it to be an overly exaggerated parody. Little did I realize, I wasn't far off the mark.
That was a great video, I laughed the whole way through it. I really can't wait for all the whining that is going to take place over "the free 90 with the new xpac thing". I have even read someone asking for professions of your choice, can we make it any easier for people not have to do anything at all except to take the time to login. Free 90, island to get free gear and 2 main professions with all secondary ones leveled 600. People do not want to have to do anything at all anymore they just want to login. From what I have read from many of the hardcore nuts, the LFR would be at least a better concept than having to do absolutely nothing at all.

I wouldn't know. I only go there to gank censer noobs and nasty hordes who don't mind their own bussiness. I haven't done any rep quests or any of that shit. Haven't even done Ordos cause I don't have the cloak. Fuck that shit.

Efficiency is the best path to finishing things you don't care about or don't find fun the fastest. I enjoy raiding. Efficient farming reduces the time I spend farming so that I can have more time to enjoy what I like (the raid content). I wouldn't even mind being slightly less efficient, but you really can't even get close to the farm when it comes to veggies. I mean, I go chain kill turtles in VotFW and trade the stacks, but for time spent, it's still faster to do the farm every day. I see where you're coming from with the labeling. I'd probably leave it as "X is more efficient." That leaves room open for saying "Efficiency is mandatory if you raid and don't have much free time outside of raid."

496 items are hardly worth getting your panties in a twist over. That was the first tier of this expansion...

The Timeless Isle is a fun way (NOTE: opinions are opinions) to give your alts a chance to enjoy the last of this expansion. It is also pure RNG/grind based so I find it completely fair: you could spend an entire day on the isle and not get enough to fully gear an alt. Once you get the gear as well, to get 535 items you need to spend time on the alt itself as burdens are not BoA.

This is a million times better than being forced to take an undergeared alt through mindless, dungeon badge/rep grinds. At least with the isle there is some variety and exploration.

I sort of agree. I never saw the dungeon grind to be a bad thing, though. Group play is pretty fun in this game, so I enjoy it when I get the time to play alts. But farming coins (even on my main... stupid trinket) via chain-mob-killing sessions isn't really fun at all.

Supports the lazy and the bad
I should say more about those 496 items. They are really easy to obtain.
LFR gives 528 ilvl gear to people whose sentience is questionable and may or may not be AFK the whole time. Flex gives 540 ilvl gear to people who generally just like being carried to it by higher geared players trying to valor cap. Reg SoO gives *553* ilvl to people who suck too much to succeed at hardmodes but still pat themselves on the back as if they accomplished anything.

    "Huolon 100%... Houlon dead"
Second is the rare mobs. Why was it necessary to add so many? Isle of Thunder had many problems, like awful terrain and way, way, way too many mobs who dazed you wherever you went.
stop being the annoying git who brings 10 jademist dancers to the ship and gets them aggro'd onto everyone else. Maybe plan your route ahead of time. No flying in WoD is going to be painful for poor players like you.

I restarted playing wow as a tank, became 90 en went to do heroics (like in the old times...).
    Boring...
I went to that Island where you got those epics for free....
    Boring....

I used to love heroics in Burning Crusade, i used to love farming rep for different factions and better items...
And now all you have to do is go to the island open up a chest and poof you have an item far better then what you can find in the heroics....
    Why ??
BEcause this islands givs you the freedom to gear up your alts... In the old days ( as i remember) an alt was for support or for his profession, not to be raid ready, for thatr you had your main.
This Island ruined wow for me and is one of the worst ideas ever. There is NO challenge whatsoever.

Blame the idea of catch up gear rather than the island. In Cata it was the same, do new heroic, replace half your gear.

Damn it's nearly 2014 and peoples still thinks epic is a seal of quality.

Wake up, Timeless Isle's epics just sucks compared to the actual stuff.

Meh, i've only been playing for a week after a year away and TI seems quite fun to me. Lots of teamwork on Auchindoun though so it makes it a lot more fun than just mindlessly grinding away by yourself.

And yes, to all the naysayers it is a good way for a player like me to get competitive again instead of being left behind for another expansion.

The trick of selling a PvP-MMO is creating the illusion among gankers that they are respectable fighters while protecting them from respectable fights, as their less skilled half would be massacred and quit instead of “HTFU” as they claim.

Challenging things in WoW are intended to be challenging. Non challenging things in WoW are not intended to be challenging. Not every aspect of the game has to be a hurdle. If you were really looking for something challenging to do, there's plenty of it. Expecting (or wanting) every detail of the game to be some absurd mountain to climb is ridiculous.

Maybe we should make a minigame for logging in just to make that more difficult? Maybe the character selection screen should constantly switch your characters so it's more difficult to click on the one you want to log in. Because, honestly, being able to just put in your password and select a character and BAM you're in the game is just too easy.

The simple fact is: TI gives you shitty gear to get into LFR to get more shitty gear. Why would you expect it to be a challenge to get shitty gear? Honestly, if we had to work any harder to get that shitty gear, I'd be a little pissed, because 496 is barely worth the effort as it is. Or is it because it's purple? lmao

If you want a challenge, challenge is there. And if you want to just blow off some steam and spend some time messing around, that's there as well. You can do both.

They always stick catch up mechanics on the end of every expac so people get to see the final raid.

There is challenge in WoW but it seems rather than doing the challenging content you're doing the non challenging content and screaming WAAAAAH WHERE'S MY CHALLENGE!!!

Do you see how counter productive that is? Want challenge go and do normal/heroic raids and challenge modes.

Not in their current state. They're cool the first couple times then it's just a boring streamlined faceroll over and over.

I wanted to level my HolyPally(86) earlier today in dungeons and could only do 2 cause of how boring it was.
