Overwhelmingly the most liked patch of the xpac.
I love the playground style of the isle.
I loved it the first day, but even then I was saying by day 2 I would be bored. Guess What? Day 2 and I had done most of the Achieves, and was so bored. Doing the 1 daily for VP and at the same time gain rep was just ridiculous. Not enough mobs, and a huge grind, what's different in this design as opposed to dailies that are kill 20 of x? Very little content, nothing to do and we have months and months of waiting for new content. I would love a nice balance between Dailies and this "open air" design. There just isn't enough variety to keep me entertained. I don't do pet battles, Proving Grounds is just silly to me. I realize you don't "have to go there" but there is no alternate "filler" content which I miss!
I do think they failed in TI but it was a decent start. They really needed to expand things there. It feel like half completed content to me.
On that note I am not looking forward to WoD since it is based on the designs of TI. Would love a bunch of dailies added in to balance things out. This would provide entertainment for those that like Dailies and those that like that "open air" design!
OT:Proving Grounds is just silly to me.
PG is silly, because it scales you down, instead of scaling the mobs up to you.
As a shadow it feels like casting through half a meter of mud with haste that low.
If you hate getting dazed by mobs you should be farming the scuttler shells off the crabs like I do since you can use them off the island too they are awesome for farming stuff. They reduce the aggro range of mobs which might sound not that great but it really greatly reduces it, you can run between all the yaungol guards on the bridges without ever aggroing any of them and its just hilarious to see people run right behind you thinking your gonna get the aggro when they do instead. lol
Sounds to me like you'd be better off playing a single player game OP. You don't want to have to compete with others for the rares, and you say there's nothing worth doing, then you turn around and complain that all of the things to do are too hard or you don't want to. Some people enjoy the challenge of hunting down the rares for those rare drop items. Just because you don't like the mount doesn't mean other people don't.
I liked the Timeless Isle, but it's getting tiresome now. Well, it got tiresome quick. The problem with Blizzard is that they take critique and take it into the extreme. A mix of 5.1 dailies and the Timeless Isle system would be a heavenly balance, imo.
You do know this is the last patch of this expansion? Timeless Isle works as a catch up mechanic.. People who are raiding and wants to put time into a game is already better geared and they leap so far ahead from just normal gear in SoO compared to the Timeless isle gear... THIS IS A CATCH UP MECHANIC, sorry have to stress this, or a good way to reroll... However this is in no way, blizzard giving out epics equal to those of the current content, basicly this is just a whine post..
The one think I read in your post and I could agree on, is the lack of use for coins..
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.
Speaking as an LFR-only player, one problem I have experienced since the 5.4 patch is that more than a few tanks I've had in my groups are geared in mostly Timeless Isle stuff. Since it's basically replaceable "bare minimum" gear, they don't gem, enchant, or upgrade any of it, so their HP spikes up and down wildly, and they often get roflstomped. It's not just tanks, of course.
Unsurprisingly, many players are skipping ToT to do Timeless for gear, then jumping right into SoO, which may have been the intent, but it can make for some frustrating LFR runs.
The Mindless Isle is shit and actually makes me miss dailies and I hated dailies. Thats how bad the Mindless Isle is, it makes dailies look good.

The only real event that happens 'sandbox' style is Rattlegore, and all that is is kill trash until boss shows up. The entire Mindless Isle is run from one spot to another killing rares. Thats not interesting long term game content. GW2 and Warhammer had events that would happen that you could partake in and they were interesting and fun. You could save a set of water pipes from bandits destroying it or in warhammer you had to stop a court of high elves guards, destroy the ballista then deal with a lancer wedge charge with a boss on horseback and his lancer guards. Dwarves repelling an orc attack on a steam train or Dwarves stopping a Giant from attacking their base. This stuff is actual content. Running around with your mount open killing rares while screaming that they did not hold a rare for you to get there is not content.
So I just did /stopwatch and timed how long it took to get to the Isle from Shrine of Two Moons. About 3 minutes exactly. Sorry, but if that's too long for you, you can't be helped.
Just saying, since a couple people listed this as a reason for not going there.
I was just telling a friend and fellow WOW player, how the concept sounded SO COOL. Then I got to the island and got my bearings, and was GRAVELY disappointed. The concept just didn't come across how I imagined it fell on it's face quite flat to say the least. Isle of Thunder was tolerable, but Timeless Isle is horrendous. I REALLY love when I am checking my mail and some pulls the rare over and he does his pillar of flame and one shots me.
