Whoa, who doesn't like Chevy Chase? Come on! That scene w/the lamb fries in Funny Farm?! (Yeah, I have really terrible taste in movies.)

On topic...I don't "hate" people I've never met, but I do strongly dislike some people based on their actions.

Produces music I put quotation marks around, but you can't really hate him. Fame can be a really destructive drug. The way he's been going lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the next member of the 27 club.

I've hated plenty of people without meeting them face to face. They all gave me reason, though. If I met them in person? I'd have a rap sheet by the end of the day.

This cannot happen soon enough (and we have too many years to wait). Of course, I wouldn't want him shaming the decent members.

I compare this to Islam, though. I know it sounds backwards but although muslims say they follow the guidelines set down in the Quran, they really just listen to what Mohammed said afterwards in the Sunnah. This is the majority of Shariah law.

I don't think that the hate emotion requires physical interaction in order to be triggered.

Indeed. Jesus, assuming he existed (and I'm betting on that he did, though I don't think he was divine) spoke of things like love and compassion and all sorts of great philosophies.

His more zealous followers however . . .

Jesus has been widely accepted as having indeed "existed" by most mainstream scholars.

In a 2011 review of the state of modern scholarship, Bart Ehrman wrote, "He certainly existed, as virtually every competent scholar of antiquity, Christian or non-Christian, agrees"... Richard A. Burridge states: "There are those who argue that Jesus is a figment of the Church's imagination, that there never was a Jesus at all. I have to say that I do not know any respectable critical scholar who says that any more".... James D.G. Dunn calls the theories of Jesus' non-existence "a thoroughly dead thesis"... Michael Grant (a classicist) wrote in 1977, "In recent years, 'no serious scholar has ventured to postulate the non historicity of Jesus' or at any rate very few, and they have not succeeded in disposing of the much stronger, indeed very abundant, evidence to the contrary"... Robert E. Van Voorst states that biblical scholars and classical historians regard theories of non-existence of Jesus as effectively refuted
    So there's that.
“Do not lose time on daily trivialities. Do not dwell on petty detail. For all of these things melt away and drift apart within the obscure traffic of time. Live well and live broadly. You are alive and living now. Now is the envy of all of the dead.” ~ Emily3, World of Tomorrow

    So your hate isn't unfounded.
Vote with your wallet if you don't like something. Otherwise just keep your mouth shut.

Yes you can. I do it all the time, often for no good reason.

    So there's that.
Well, yeah, that's why I said I was betting that he did, though I didn't realize that view point was more than popular among scholars.
