Just came back to WoW and I need a new comp!!! Please help

Hey guys! I am tiiiiiiiiiiired of my horrible PC. A couple of years ago (when I quit WoW) my daughter was born and my wife wanted me to get a computer that did not have all the wires and choke/death/whatever hazards as my old gaming rig. Unfortunately, the solution was an all-in-one. Since I quit PC games all together I didn't really mind, but I can't take it anymore now that I'm back to playing again.

But since it's been a couple of years since I've built a computer I am out of the loop and almost forgot what to do. So do me a favor. I am plagued with a horribad 7-10 fps in raids/shrine/staring at the floor at the next to lowest setting (can't remember what it's called) I would like to be at ultra, at least 30 frames ONLY FOR WOW - I dont play anything else..

Here comes the hard part...I am only looking to spend around 500-600 bucks.

I love you all in advance.

PS, peripherals are not necessary since I still have all my old gaming mouse and keyboard/monitor/etc

On this forum are quite a few I3 builds. The I3 has hyperthreading and is a 2 core, but is very good in WoW. The I5 is better but the price goes up quite a bit and you need a video card. 7870ghz edition's are probably the best video card deals going atm. That is a legit 200 dollar card selling for 130-140 atm.

So you are prob looking at a cheap z87 mb the i4 and a 7870 video card. Should get you very high settings at 1080p. If your monitor is 720p this video card would be overkill but at the same price as 720p cards? Grab one in case your monitor breaks.

I usually suggest amd 6 cores for someone with your budget, but an i3 is the best choice if you only play wow and are building it specifically for wow. As for GPU nvidia has a slight lead in that department, but not as big as intel has over amd in the cpu department. The 7870 deals seem to be over so this is the video card i suggest for you:

And if you are wondering what i3 this is what id suggest:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116946 (109.00 with promo code CW1301, ends on the 8th).

Cheapish decent mobo: (i could link cheaper boards, but they do not have pci-e 3.0)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128607

    Memory:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314

    Case:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129066

    Power supply:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139026

Hard drive: (hybrid drive, only 20 bucks more than standard but well worth it for ssd like boot up times)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...81&ignorebbr=1

It came to 567 in cart and has 60 dollars in mail in rebates, you didnt mention if you needed an operating system so you still have leeway there if you need one.

Thank you so much guys, keep the suggestions coming as I will probably be doing this with my Christmas bonus.

Also I have a question, there is a guy that just started working at my dealership that just left a job at a custom computer place. He is saying that I should be able to get the 4th gen i5 and use the integrated graphics to run WoW at ultra and bypass having to buy a video card at all....However, I did some research, and the i5 integrated card is the Intel HD4000 which is the same thing that is in my all-in-one. I have a hard time believing that the slower processor is all that is holding me back from better FPS and the difference between "fair" and "ultra" display settings.

I like the idea of the i3 and a dedicated GPU much much more simply for longevity of the computer being able to handle a load, but is this true?

Edit: By the way, even at low framerate and poor graphics, I do not keyboard turn

There is no way any integrated video card is giving ultra. They are pretty good for watching movies and using the internet and playing really basic games. That is about it though.

Keep in mind that is with a 4770k turboing to 3.9ghz and that is the top of the line 4600 integrated GPU on "good" settings. 25 fps lows will be far worse in a raid.

Thanks for finding that article! That pretty much demolishes his idea.

As for your earlier suggestion, would newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130695 be what you were talking about in terms of the cheaper z87? I get easily confused with there being 56418413543165168 different brands making the same products all at different price points, and is a little rough to keep up with. I found a different z87 made by MSI that was 40 bucks more that had a soundblaster card in it, which made it a bit more appealing. But just wondering if it is necessary.

Edit: sorry for not having an actual Hyperlink, im not allowed links in my posts yet.

Yeah that is as budget as they come. I got that and a 4770k for 265 at microcenter under combo deals but it is in store only (michigan store). They still have the same deal on the i5 haswell. Microcenter is ridiculously cheap for mb/cpu.

If buying from newegg, tigerdirect superbiiz amazon you could get a nicer MB for cheaper. Asrock, Asus, Asus, Gigabyte. Nothing wrong with the MSI at all. I love it. It doesn't support SLI though (i went ATI), but it does crossfire. So if you are going Nvidia on the board the MSI isn't a great choice. These one is better for that price.

Edited as the second board I linked was a z77, and I am stupid. ^ is fine though.
