"Even so, the prince's relatively quick acceptance of dire measures (e.g., draining magic from demons) is by no means characteristic of blood elves in general. The blood elves of Outland have by now discovered Kael'thas' agreement with Illidan, and they have for the most part become convinced of its necessity. Most blood elves still live on Azeroth, though. Few of these elves know of Kael'thas' pact with Illidan, and many would be horrified if they discovered it. Draining magic from small mana-bearing vermin is a far cry from draining magic from demons. Yet, as their hunger grows, blood elves--particularly those in Outland--are becoming increasingly inured to the things they must do in order to obtain more magic."

When I speak of fel, I am referring more so to how the kaldorei would perceive them, and the similarity between their situation and those of the Shen'dralar who drained Immolthar. You're right, however.
The sheer fact Furion and Tyrande were so casual with Kael'thas upon their initial reunion after 10k years makes this lore community hang up over just how deep the division is seem a bit pedantic. As I said, I think it would probably be an issue on par with the the gay marriage controversy in America today, even less so, as the Kaldorei have been working and fighting with the Alliance now for a decade. Magi, Kirin Tor, warlocks, Draenei, worgen, and all. There is a well of abundance for unique stories and unique prejudices in the Night Elf lore kit for RP, but it's not a law in stone the way some people portray it who just seem to be flexing their muscles to demonstrate they have a familiarity with the lore of the background universe's detailed cultural norms, a common issue in all fanbases.

The Shen'dralar and Silver Covenant offer a wealth of new lore for the Kaldorei I think. I am itching to pontificate on my demon hunter/shen'dralar origin but I'll spare the world of that obsession.

If you want to read a skyscraper of text, here I try to reconcile Knaak's total disregard for the demon hunter of WC3 in his glorified fan fiction with what WC3 established and the RPG ran with before it was stripped of it's canonical status. An offshoot of the Moonguard, a specialist sect of arcane augmented warriors who I like to call glaive masters or glaive dancers, seem a perfect evolutionary origin for every glaive fighting unit Warcraft elves have developed, and a kind of demon keeper warden that both arose as tenders for Immol'thar while holding knowledge in their archives over Illidan's peculiar mutations and enhancements could provide a perfect vehicle for where the hell the pre Illidari demon hunters came from.

And now I will shut the fuck up as I've said too much already.

Check out my original post if you'd care to.

Yeah, I agree with that. I wouldn't be surprised if that fighting style, of a glaive-wielding arcane warrior, was already prevalent amongst the Highborne themselves. After all, you have the demon hunters amongst the NE (and later the BE), the spellbreakers amongst the HE/BE and Naga female warriors, like that in Vashj'ir, wielding double-edged blades very similar to glaives.

It was mentioned in one of the novels that the Legion was astonished by the fighting prowess of the Highborne warriors but I can't recall where this reference was.

Note that this post-dates TFT, thus my wording 'twist'. It doesn't really change my opinion of it. I still think it's a dull alternative to having the BE aware of what they had to do, simply because they thought their survival required it. Some people think that if the BE knew that they were consuming fel, it'd make them "evil", but this is simplistic nonsense.

The only way I see humans becoming "more customizable" or interesting is to start a piercing and tattoo shop in SW. I'm serious, think about it.

Some concepts I had in mind are Azotha, the "ugly children" of the Vrykul who came to reside in the Arathi Highlands and eventually found the first Human kingdoms, and the Half-Elves, who are prominent members within Human society yet completely non-existant in WoW for some reason.

Evil is probably not necessarily true. Darker and perhaps similar to the Forsaken. Also, Black and White isn't inherently bad. Personally this shades of grey being god's gift is...annoying.

@Shoc: Probably because the half ling stuff is...not so fond on Blizzard side and the playerbase. I personally don't like it either but whatever. Also

It's supposedly rather rare to have half-elves in the first place, only the RPG sourcebooks ever stated otherwise. But those stated some very, very silly things.

I originally made this thread as a response to a WoW Insider article that talked about variant player skins for all the various sub-races that were in the game.

I thought it would be cool to make a bunch of edits of all the Blizzcon Previews for fun, and for practice for an intro to design/photoshop class that I have come January. I feel that since these models are going to exist in game anyways, and since many of these sub-races have a substantial amount of lore backing them up, sub-race skins can provide a huge amount of character customization. WoW really lacks the same level of character customization that next-gen MMO's seem to offer, and I feel that now with the overhaul of all the new models is a perfect time to implement some additional customization.

Also the un-undead human wax museum Danny Trejo thing was tounge in cheek, don't take it too seriously lol

Have a care when quoting image heavy posts, if you would. At least take the [IMG] tags or something. I don't want to make you feel scolded or lectured but this is an image heavy discussion and I'm one of the most image happy posters around, but the quotes are just,... damn. I had to scroll through all that for you to ask a one sentence question?
Just do me a favor and consider what I've said in the spirit of good will and tidy threads

All I know of is the son of Turalyon and Rhonin's twins. And the Blue Dragonflight's new leader assumes the form of a hybrid for some reason.

Then we have Lantresor who is half orc half Dranei, he kicks ass.
    And Garona, bless her.

Me'dan, I won't go near there. I didn't think he was so bad considering WOW's raw concentrated homage heavy Joseph Cambell dripping DNA, but Me'dan is like Warcrafting Warcraft itself exponentially. Lulz.

I think hybrids for player classes are mostly weak and too subtle to warrant anything but a token effort from the devs and thus mostly more clutter than a benefit.

Bluish or grey orcs would be cool like Lantresor.

I'm still wondering if magic wasn't involved there. After all, it is Gul'dan's work. The same guy who magically smushed two ogres together because the experiment had a really really small chance to proc an ogre-magi.

Ha, yeah, I forgot about that.

This being a mythology-fest and the races being intelligently designed by gods, I don't think the fact biologically a draenei is more closely related to a flower from Argus than he is an Orc on Draenor is a factor that requires more magic to solve the problem. I guess chromosomes aren't a factor, nor DNA, no matter what I know about the nature of reality in my reality Basically I guess it's all a matter of if the mother can gestate and give birth without her baby rupturing her body, say,...*shudder* if a Gronn had his way with a gnome, or if she accidentally sat on a toilet seat that,.. well, you imagine the scenario.

Aw, need some virtual affirmative action?
When the Green Skin is dead, Magua will eat his heart. Before he dies, Magua will put his children under the knife, so the Green Skin will know his seed is wiped out forever.

Don't tell anyone, but as much I love every race in this game, I am secretly a night elf, and this game is the World of Elrith. Elrith being my Night Elf warrior, born on 12/9/2004. One day Ashenvale will be cleansed anew, and the Warsong will be wiped from the planar realms forever.

Why, I wouldn't be opposed to this being played at my funeral in real life while everyone wondered WTF they were listening to.
