    Heroic Paragons Blood AI Change/Bug?

Prior to the patch today our heroic (10 US) Paragons strategy on the pull was to hit Rikkal a few times until the bloods spawn, the first spawn of bloods would all go to Rikkal and we would hard switch to Skeer and kill him before the next set of bloods spawned. We never had a problem with this strategy.

Since the patch today we extended and have been stuck on the bloods. Now if we DPS down Rikkal and the bloods spawn as we normally did, one of them switches to Skeer even when Rikkal is considerably lower in health. A few attempts we have had Rikkal at 15% lower health than Skeer and one of the bloods still went to Skeer. This completely screws up our strategy. We have had over 10 pulls on this tonight and it has happened every time.

Is anybody else experiencing this bug? I don't see any notes about it being an intended change.

It works exactly the same way it did last week. We're having no issues with it and used the same strategy.

Ours is certainly not working exactly the same. 100% of our pulls have had one blood going to Skeer, even with Rikkal being at 15% lower health when they came out.

The bloods take a second after spawning before selecting a target to run to. Also it doesn't matter if Rikkal is significantly lower then Skeer, a blood will go to Skeer also if he's damaged enough. Just don't start at all until the bloods have selected their target.

Haven't the bloods allways worked this way? You just have to keep an eye on what path the bloods take when they spawn. If some are heading for the target you're killing you will either have to slow/stun it or kill it. That's the way we have been doing it since we killed it the first time.

    Nah man, not this time.
We had Rikkal lower than Skeer, like clearly lower, and when the first bloods came out 2 went for Rikkal and one went for Skeer.

    I want to cry.

Don't you have time to kill the boss before the bloods reach him? You just slow/stun the bloods which are closet, or kill them.
We start off by not touching any of the bosses before the first wave of bloods spawn, when they reach the boss we start off by nuking Skeer. He will spawn one wave when he reach like 25 %, and at this point we just handle the adds. If one of the adds close to him is fixated on skeer, we kill that blood. The others we just slow and finish off skeer. How are you dps'ing the bosses - I mean, since you have Rikkal lower than Skeer. Do you split the dps and just cross fingers noone goes for skeer?

I'd recommend posting on the official forums in this thread: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/10827383050

It will get far more attention from the devs.

Yeah, we just had no one except tanks touch any of the bosses until the bloods were clearly headed to Rikkal then switched hard to Skeer and handled bloods around that spawned around 10%. Originally, we had the raid start on Rikkal to spawn the bloods then swap to Skeer once they were out.

Also, we just had a Fiery Edge during a Rapid Fire. Yeah.

That is normal, we have that on pretty much every kill.

Interesting I certainly never saw fiery edges light up during the actual cast on any of our kills. Right after though.

The 'bug' is that the time that first round of Bloods "pick their target" is somewhat longer, so if you switch to Skeer too fast, the ones that pick their target relatively later will go for him. The adds always targeted individually (which is why previously, sometimes you would have some go to different targets), but the time for them to all pick their targets is just a few seconds longer now.

The solution is to just sit on your bait target a few seconds longer. If this is part of your typical strat, then you wouldn't notice a problem.

It depends on your DPS. If you're DPS is higher, which it will be each week, the abilities will line up differently. Now and before they broke it there was always a semi grace period where certain abilities wouldn't happen at the same time, so basically you wouldn't get aims at bad times. When it was 'bugged' the timers were really out of whack for whatever reason.

Skeers blood always use to go to the most damaged when they appeared, since the 'fix' that threshold seems a lot more fine lined and if Skeer is too damaged they might go to him despite Rikkal being 10-15% lower. We fixed it by basically having nobody touch Skeer until the bloods physically spawned. It might be tricky DPS wise because sometimes he decides to spawn them faster on certain attempts, but moving him and stunning/snaring the bloods should do it.

I don't know if the bloods reverted to their previous behavior or not, we didn't risk it last night and just went with our 'bugged' Paragons Skeer strat, which is what I outlined above.
