    Windows update failing [Solved]

Hey, lately my PC has had small boot-up problems (Restart turning the PC off and starting windows normal helps), but yesterday it got worst. A simple windows update is giving my alot off problems.

Its just one update I can't get to work, a safety update (Got 7 other updates working fine, taking 1 at a time), it gets stuck at 12% during the configuration when you're asked to restart the PC inn order to finish the update. It stays there for something that feels like 30 minutes or more, and then shuts off.

So far I was able shut the power off, and when it boots up again I choose Safe mode. Then I shut it off again, and next time I boot up it dosen't start configuring the windows update, fuss I can get it to work normally.

I also tried do Windows repair (option that I sometimes get asked for when I shut the power off) and it found nothing wrong after X minutes off working, and I also tried Windows Fix it, neither said anything was wrong.

I think it could be my OS (Windows7 home premium 64 bit) that are causing it, or my Harddrive? A WD Caviar 500GB 16MB Sata II, about 2 years old.

Any help is appreciated. Spended about 2 hours restarting my PC and all that crap since yesterday

What update is giving you problems exactly? Find the name of it and Google it or post it here. Hopefully that'll give you some answers!

    Safetyupdate to Windows7 to x64 - based systems (KB2887069) 676 KB

Hope thats the name you need Rough translated to english.

Edit: Should also mention I did a "check" on my HDD, and Windows said there was no problems. Currently doing a diskfragmentation also, just cause...Why not!

Thanks alot! Ofcourse I should have tried googling the name off the file aswell, what a waste off time I must say IT is getting damn complex - A simple disable off AVG (Anti virus) fixes the problem...So complex and messy yes.
