My guild has been working on Garrosh for a few weeks now, and I've gone from holy (20kspi/11khaste build) to disc (59%mastery/25%crit build) and back to a holy haste build. I run with a druid who is hot happy and while I cant tell if he's doing all he can or not beyond just running hots, but in the meantime I'm stuck trying to change everything i'm doing to accommodate.
I've got my haste up to a 1.9 PoH, but not quite to the renew/serenity level of play. My spirit is 17.8k which should be good, but I worry about running out of mana all the time with doing the big heals b/c the druid seems to only be doing hots.
Disc seemed to work really well tbh, but when we hit that last phase I felt like there wasn't enough umph to heal everyone w/ me being disc and the druid still running hots, which is why I went back to holy.
I feel like i'm at a loss for what else I can do to be more effective in holy and not over heal, or be more effective in disc and still have those group heals ready for that last crazy phase. So if anyone could help w/ pointers on what I'm doing wrong I'd love to hear it. and not just what i'm doing wrong but WHY.
I am by no means expert, but if you are doing this with druid, I believe you really should try and to it as discipline. I do it myself as disc with restoration shaman, and the healing is not an issue at all if your dps manage to nuke the MC'ed players fast enough during the last phase.
As you've said, when running disc (59% mastery / 25% crit) try to reforge everything you can to crit, it really helps your dps (boss dies faster) and puts divine aegis on raid members more often, 25% seems quite low. Divine aegis is almost 50% of my healing done here.
If you have the legendary meta gem, you can drop your spirit very low, giving you a chance to boost that crit rating you seem to be missing.
