    Laptop for Programming

    Hello!

I have a $1000 budget to spend on a laptop. I will be using it mostly for programming and taking notes during classes at college, although I would like it if it could handle games on about medium settings. Most laptops I have looked at either have an average processor + average GPU and low battery life, or a good processor + mediocre GPU and average to high battery life.

I realize that this is probably just because of the price range I am looking in, but I wanted to know if anyone has any knowledge in laptops past my 30 minutes of wandering in BestBuy and searching on Newegg.com

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thanks!
    Glimli

Is weight/size a problem for you? There are plenty of laptops for about 800-1000 that can play some games on high and most on medium. Case and point,

I should probably have put more info in what I'm looking for heh.
    In priority order:

1.) Programming + Battery life is priority
    2.) Portability (less than 16", ~5 pounds)
    3.) Gaming

The Lenovo looks good except that the 4 hour battery life makes me skeptical
