Check on a Build for a Friend

Hi guys, I just want to do a check on this build for a friend of mine before I have him order it. His budget is 500$, and he already has a PSU and a GPU. The GPU is a 550ti, but he doesn't do super graphically intense games so it is fine with him. He will also use his old 680gb HDD. Without further ado:

I will probably have him replace the Sandisk SSD with a Samsung 840 while it is on sale, and he needs the Wi-Fi stick because his internet is pretty bad. Other than that are there any glaring problems/replacements you would make? Thanks in advance.

I would get windows 8.1 instead, better software and will last him longer.

Ok on the Windows 8... Is that the only thing then? No hardware problems as far as you can tell?

Build looks good. I moved a couple things around (cheaper board, cheaper ram), so for $15 more you get a slightly better CPU, and the larger/better SSD.
