    WOD PvP gear requirements

I remember in WOTLK you had to have a certain amount of rating to get the best pvp gear available.

It was really hard to get that gear and you really had something to strave to.
Nowadays you can just loging once a week do your weekly cap and get the best pvp gear out there atm.

So i would really like to see that you need rating to get the "Better" pvp gear. This way you are doing arena's not just for fun but also for rating/better gear. You need rating in order to get it

People that didn't play wow since wotlk or earlier might not understand this and not support this idea but i think the people who did would like this one.

Let me know what you guys think is best:)!

You should've probably posted this on the pvp section of these forums even as dead as it is. Anywhere else on these forums nobody literally gives a fuck about pvp.

To answer your OP, no Blizzard isn't going to put the pre Cataclsym pvp gear model back in the game because they've already stated that they like the way the current model works. Which means the old system isn't coming back. Once they make a decision on something and change it as they call "for the better" they rarely ever revert it.

    The horror!

I sincerely doubt that Blizzard will ever go back to the model of, "be better to get better gear." In PvP, that makes no fucking sense and is just a vicious cycle that feeds off itself. You need weapons to get to 2200, but you need 2200 to get weapons.

inb4: I bet you just want your gear mailed to you at level cap. I actually would like that, to be honest. I play PvE for gear grinding, not PvP.

I actually agree with this. GW2 had a similar system and I loved it.

Not alot people care alot about pvp atm, i'm also doing PVE atm. But i think pvp is boring and too easy atm. Not much you can archieve... Like having above 2k only rewards a different look for your enchants.

I played other mmorpg's which had alot of different pvp gear.
They should change Something so it's more enjoyable.

But i doubt any of that will happen

    PvP was too gear orientated.
Now it offers more of a measure of skill, something the playerbase claims they want but in reality do not.

Taking off rating for the PvP gear IMO killed off the fun and progression for a lot of long time PvP'ers. Sure, now some guy that has no idea what he's doing can get the elite set and have fun, but if they ever get serious about it, there's a good chance that they will end up getting bored shortly after because there's really no progression path now. The real reason they did it, I think, is to take out the incentive of win trading, while not having to actively monitor it as much as the only thing left now is achievements.

Was a lot more fun when you had to earn your gear, and in the process, learn the class you were playing.

The only thing that system did was to make the better players dominate the lesser players even more because of gear. Stupid system.

during BC and wotlk pvp was a long term project
    you had invested interest

i dont want free pvp gear and when it comes to buying the expansion this is a hangup for me'

i liked working harder and knowing i had put forth more effort to gain a slight advantage
    socialism bad

the only thing which will make pvp really enjoyable would be total equalkization of gear so that everybody in bg/arena had exackly the same equal gear including weapons, trinkets enchants gems - then the matches would be fair - but players will never agree to this - because then half of those arena heroes would stand no chance against peopel who relay on actual skills not on full conquest gear to pvn everybody around.

the reason LoL and other dotas are so popular is exackly cause every new match is wiping lvls gold etc to the starting point. this is what makes them so much more popular then pvp in wow.

I've never been that attracted to PvP, but Trial of the Gladiator equalising gear has actually really perked my interest.

Actually, so has the Island tbh, we shall see.

I'll have a Razer Nostromo & Naga combo tomorrow, which as a Hunter, makes me excited for PvP, as I just can't bind enough for PvP with a keyboard without screwing other binds up or having literally retarded binds, even in PvE I have a hell of a lot of binds and macros, but for PvP it's even more, I can go without binding traps in PvE but no chance for PvP etc, same goes for Stampede, it's such a long cooldown that I just click it in PvE, but I wouldn't want that for PvP, possibly the same for AMoC but that's only 2 minutes so more consideration.
