New mini ITX build ! need advices

    Hello,

i already made my first build here, so i ask you again for my new one

i would like to change my actual bitfenix prodigy build for a smaller one :P

but i need some advices, here the comps :

Case : Fractal Design Node 304 white
MB : MSI Z87I GAMING AC
    CPU : Intel Core i5-4670K (3.4 GHz) + Noctua NH-U12P SE2 (height is ok)
    SSD + HDD : Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go + Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 6Gb/s 2 To
    RAM : Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8Gb (2 x 4 Gb) DDR3 1600 MHz
    GPU : ASUS GTX760-DCMOC-2GD5 - GeForce GTX 760 2 Gb

What PSU would you suggest on that build ? (max 150mm length)

What would you suggest to change on that build ? i play a lot cs go and dota2 (game who don't need high end builds) but i also like games like batman, Assassin's creed, payday2.

    Thanks in advance

The only thing I would replace is the Crucial M500 480Gb for a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB + Western Digital Blue 500Gb (SSD+HDD should be about same price, but 840 Pro is MLC, where M500 is TLC), but this is really personal taste.

    EDIT:
Are you sure about PSU dimensions? Fractal Design site states:
ATX PSUs, up to 160mm in length (To fit in combination with a long graphics card, PSUs with modular connectors on the back typically need to be shorter than 160 mm)

Storage: While i concur with the swap from one big ssd to ssd + hdd, i would not recommend the 840 Pro. Not because it is a bad ssd (it's probably one of the best there is), but it offers little in addition to cheaper drives. The fact that it has MLC flash is nice, but has little to no impact on daily use. I would get either a 240GB Crucial M500 or a 250GB Samsung 840 EVO (both around $150-160). Add a normal 1TB hdd (e.g. WD Caviar Blue) and you're golden.

RAM: Unless you have some serious memory hog software (video editing, rendering, etc.) you would be totally fine with 8GB

PSU: Cheap solution would be the Corsair CX430M ($30 after rebate). If you want something high quality, i would suggest the Seasonic G 450W.
Depending, how long your graphics card is, they should be fine:

If you mount the PSU with fan down (as it is intended), then the Corsair CX430M has the modular connectors at the very front end, so even with medium sized graphics cards, it should be ok. The Seasonic would have the modular connectors at the bottom, so with a bit luck you could route the cables below the graphics card.

If you still feel insecure, just get this card instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127772
Extra short GTX 760 which will guaranteed fit with the ebove psus. Tek Syndicate just did two videos about it:

Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?

    thanks for you answers!!!

yes fractal say 160mm (same recommendation as the prodigy)
but it's very difficult with that length for the cable management. so i think 150mm is better for the cable management.

Storage : i've selected only 1 big SSD because of the low space you have on that case
only 1 ssd\hdd = less cables -> but as you say maybe it's better ssd + hdd?

PSU : CX430M seems to be a good choice i'll put it on my build.

And for the GPU ASUS GTX760-DCMOC-2GD5 is the mini one (as the MSI) but witch one is better ?

One extra drive/cable is not going to change anything as far as space/heat/airflow goes.

    You can choose between:

    1 500gb SSD for $300

    or

    1 120gb SSD + 1 TB HDD for ~$150

Personally, I'd take the 'twice the storage for half the price' deal. Heck, even a 250gb Samsung Evo SSD + 2 TB WD is cheaper ($250)

Motherboard seems good on paper and have positive reviews so I guess you will be extremely satisfied by your choice.

The limit of 160mm is only valid, if you have a long graphics card that would obstruct the psu cables. If you get a non-modular psu, the cables will be at the very front so even a bit longer cards pose no problem.

If you don't want to worry too much about that, get the graphics card that i linked above: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127772
Pretty much the same price as other GTX 760's, but very compact (specifically designed for smaller ITX cases) and will not mess with any psu cables.
