The network and the Robertson family announced Friday that Phil will still be part of the series -- and since he didn't miss any filming, his temporary suspension will have no effect on the upcoming fifth season.

Anyone who had a clue realized a while back that this "suspension" was simply an excuse for media attention. A&E never had any intention of actually removing the guy from the show or actually punishing him in any way, nor was there really any reason to. We're all allowed to believe whatever we want and as long as he isn't using the show as a platform, there's no reason to care about any of this.

This was, in retrospect, a pretty contrived appeal for ratings, but that doesn't mean Robertson isn't a homophobe and racist. It just means that A&E's okay with that.

Good, Im glad A&E finally came to their senses. Ive never watched the show before but I may consider it now to support those fine, sensible Americans in Louisiana. People are allowed to have opinions and it shouldnt matter what they say in their private time. It would be a different story if the show was derrogatory. Still not sure how I would be entertained just watching some people make duck calls for an hour each week
