couple of questions about pvp

first of all i'm sorry if this should be in the general pvp forums i didn't quite know

ok, first question is about pve gear in random battlegrounds; i have high end raiding pve gear (avg ilvl 567) so all my items are downscaled to ilvl 521 i think.
my question about this is how viable is it actually ? Is it better or worse than the pvp gear i can buy with honor points (wich is ilvl 496) ?
i was thinking that i should just go for the set bonus on the pvp items since my pve set doesn't work in bg's and the trinkets for the resilience bonus and pvp power.

second question is more class orientated; what spec is recommended at the moment for pvp i know that sub is still a solid choice but was curious about assassination and combat?

also general pvp (/rogue) tips are always welcome

Pve gear is better until you get 496!

Swap PvE gear out for tyrannical as you get it. As far as rogue specs sub is the best but the other two are viable. You can play combat and melt people with killing spree but your putting all your eggs into one basket there.
