PC Upgrade, need some purchase tips.

I'm upgrading my PC but I feel that there's some loose ends that maybe you guys can help me out with

My Setup (Both old and new included)

    Mobo: Asrock z77 extreme4
    CPU: i5 3750k
    GPU: R9 290
    RAM: 8gb 1600
    Sound card: Recon3D Fatal1ty Pro SB1356
    HDD: 2tb Caviar Black
    Case: NZXT Phantom 530

I still have about 500$ to spend. What else should I get/improve? I was thinking about a SSD or something but a decent sized one would be expensive I believe.

    Thanks!

Don't really need anything TBH. Just go with the SSD or maybe a 2nd monitor if you want one.

If you're budget is $500, no reason not to get a 250gb. I wouldn't be able to live on 120gb.

Other than that, your setup is better than mine (3570K + 660) and I intend mine to last me into 2015.

Well it depends on what you want to use it for. Booting windows fast and thats it? Or booting windows and maybe a couple games like say Battlefield 4 that have long load times? 120gb would be fine for booting windows and a couple games but with a budget of $500 you could get up to 512gb or so for $400 or less.
