    First build advice

I've wanted to build a computer for a little while now, but never thought I could do it. Got some extra cash and I think it would be fun to actually build.

    Budget $900

    Resolution 1920x1080

Games / Settings Desired I raid 25 man semi hardcore in World of warcraft, so if i could get 25+ fps in high settings and and 40+ on Normal i think that would hold in WoD (unless you guys think it will need more) other then WoW a little minecraft and LoL.

Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc) Nope

    Country United States

Parts that can be reused None

Do you need an OS? yea dont care between W7 or 8

Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)? Just need a monitor

I dont have any parts picked out, but after watching a few videos a case thats pretty easy to put stuff together in would be nice since its my first build.

    Thanks

I purposely left out overclockable components as this person seems pretty new to the scene, in doing so i got a better case/video card/PSU into the build.

If they are interested in overclocking i can adjust the build, gonna leave it how it is for now.

Ive said this many times but i am not a fan of pc part picker. Its just sooooo much easier and convenient to order from a single website. Even if it takes more work for us to suggest parts to them.

You can filter pcpartpicker so it only shows 1 website on it.

Sure, but no one on this forum ever does that. Not to mention PC part picker is notorious for quoting wrong prices. I simply avoid it like the plague.

sure its always easier to pick up items from one store, though u wont always get the best prices then. overclocking to 4 ghz is just go into bios, set multiplier to x40, exit and save button, done. for that little work it is just such a good performance increase.
for the case, dunno... the nzxt is a fine case with good airflow for the money and has usb 3.0 ports on the front.
xfx oem is seasonic so dunno whats wrong with it or where urs is better.
the graphic card i do agree that the 650 ti boost is better but the 260x can max out wow and going for performance in 25 man raid, a 4670k + 260x > 4430 + 650 ti.

Like i said if he is interested in overclocking id adjust my build, but being a first timer the standard i5 made more sense to me. BTW 260x is an awful card for the money, like terrible price/performance ratios. It honestly should never be suggested to anyone.

hm, might be right about the 260x, was a too quick pick on my side. its too expensive for that performance looking at other games. besides that, at 170 dollar i wouldnt suggest the 650, i´d go for the 660. if op can up his budget another 20 u can go for this.

if the 26 is too much, op can also skip the evo, until some point later, as the stock cooler should be able to handle ~3.8 ghz.
