    Like I said.

Got sciatica? I'd like to put my money on S1-L5 herniated disc.

(EDIT: I flunked out of Hollywood Upstairs Medical College, the only med school that's above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley).

Yep, so far they have me with chronic lower back pain, right sided sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and now that they finally took a chance to look after putting me off for the last 22 months, the damaged disc which caused the whole thing.

Just hoping it hasn't caused permanent nerve damage or anything from having a disc pressing on a nerve for 2 years. Damn VA shouldn't have been dragging ass this long.

Seeking medical advice on these forums is against the forum rules, so you can expect this thread to be closed down pretty soon:

To answer your thread title though: Yes, the person who knows how to read an MRI of a spine is called a doctor. If you're not happy with the responses you've had from them so far, or that you get at your next appointment, ask other doctors and specialists in the field. Don't ask a bunch of guys on the internet with little or no medical training.

OP, even assuming you do find someone who can give you a hint, the pictures are so small it's almost impossible to do that. Maybe you should try re-uploading a few at full size.

Anyone who knows how to read them, tell me what you think. Been dealing with it for 22 months now, they just finally gave me an MRI and got these back.

The official report is I have a bulging disc protruding 7mm into my spinal canal, which to my knowledge is only 13-15mm wide, and pressing on my nerves. Had a friend who used to look at them for a living look at these and told me it looked Herniated. Figure I would put them out and see what others would honestly say.

Edit: First 3 pictures are kinda small but the rest are bigger.
From my limited knowledge id say yes, it looks to me like you have a spinal disc herniation protruding down between your sacral and lumbal column

But yours is where the bottom arrow is.

    Thanks Cattaclysmic.

Didn't know it was against the rules though to ask these. Apologize to the mods in advance.

And to all the ones who keep telling me to ask the doctors, I did and am, but most places like that aren't open on the weekends except for emergencies, which this isn't life threatening (although it has cost me my job and the ability to work). I mainly put it up to see what others would think, wasn't asking for someone for guidance I could live by or anything.
