    Computer temperature question

    So I just finished building my new system. It runs like a champ so far, haven't had any issues, but I was curious about the CPU temperatures.

    According to HWMonitor at an idle my system is running at 8 degrees Celcius. Is there ever a point where a CPU runs TOO COLD?

    Also, after about 2 hours worth of gaming (Playing Diablo 3 on max graphics settings) my processor is holding steady at 59-61 degrees Celcius, is this within safe operating range for my processor?

    Here's my system specs;

    RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

    MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

    Too Cold while still above freezing; probably not. You might have expansion problems, however.

    I suggest you ask this in the computer sub-forum instead of Gen OT. Get better answers there I would assume.

    Uh...yes. Absolutely.

    Not possible, Hwmonitor is reading it wrong. Your CPU will never go below the ambient temperature of your room. So if your room is 21°C, the temps on your cpu will never go below that. Physics, yo.

    TJ max for the FX-6300 is 70°c. Yours seem fairly high for the stock clock speeds... Try checking if your heatsink is seated properly, and if the fans are spinning up properly when the temps go up.
