Isn't there that inscription item that allows you to rename your pet?
There is for hunters but I can not find one for warlocks
I vaguely remember a guy in the inn of Brill to sell an item that renames your warlock pet. I am not entirely sure I dreamed it or if it actually still is there, as it was a long time ago.

afaik your pets are named depending on your client(/realm?), at least when I´m playing against those french lag-gods in BGs, their pets also got french names.
its based on what client you are playing on.
