Is the gigabyte GTX 780 ti Ghz version the same as the non Ghz version gigabye 780 ti

Is the gigabyte GTX 780 ti Ghz version the same as the gigabyte GTX 780 ti(non Ghz edition)? Like is it higher binned maybe(if that's a thing for GPU's)?

I'm debating on if it's worth blowing $50 to get the gigabyte GTX 780 ti Ghz version, instead of the gigabyte GTX 780 ti non Ghz edition.

The Ghz version has a 1080MHz core(1150MHz boost), while the non Ghz has a 1020MHz(1085MHz boost). That doesn't seem like a huge increase, It looks like it'd be easy to achieve on the non Ghz version.

I really hate overclocking, but the amount that has been applied to the Ghz version does not seem worth blowing $50 more for.

Would I be able to apply the same exact overclock the Ghz has to the non Ghz version? If there's no binning going on, It would seem I'd have no problem doing that.

Sorry for the jumbled sentences, I'm bad at this.

It's not worth it at all.
I have the possibly the worst overclocking 780 Ti's of the bunch and I can hit 1190 MHz 24/7 stable.
Also I would get the Twin Frozr 780 Ti which have proven to be the best 780 Ti out there, apart from the expensive classified & KingPIN.

I managed to get to 1200 boost clock on my reference card. I didn't even bother adjusting voltage, it was stable at stock. I'm sure you'll be fine with the regular edition.

    Alright thanks.

Even though I CANNONT STAND OVERCLOCKING GAAAH I HATE IT. I'm going with the non Ghz version.

The Ghz overclock looked pathetic really lol. As much as I hate OCing(and I'm horrible at it), I can get an OC like that easily.

Also, Toffie, by Twin Frozr, did you mean the MSI gaming edition?

Yes I did, just going by this review : http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/M...Gaming/28.html

"MSI's GTX 780 Ti is almost too good to be true. The card comes overclocked out of the box, to 1020 MHz base clock, which, thanks to Boost 2.0, runs the card at 1144 MHz on average - higher than most other custom GTX 780 Ti cards."

I, for my part, will be replacing my personal system's ASUS GTX 670 Direct CU with the MSI GTX 780 Ti Gaming as it's the best card I've reviewed in a long time."

Yeah I saw that review. Was looking to get the MSI one before I saw the gigabyte one's.

The gigabyte one is $680 right now, while the MSI is $710. Gonna think this one over.

Also the gigabyte one has a custom PCB while the MSI looks like it has a reference one. Not sure if that really matters, I'm not going to overvolt.

You shouldn't need to overclock anything if you're on a single display right now. The card simply demolishes everything currently available. Hell, BF4 maxed out in a 64 player server sticks me over 130 FPS at all times.
