    Build Advice - Last check

    Hi guys!

I cherry picked my favourites from previous topics, but need a last check on this build, a "go and buy it" from an expert

My main goal is a powerfull copmuter which holds for years without any upgrade.
Second goal is low noise. My ears bleed enough at work, i need peace at home.
Third goal is perfect cooling. Summers can be really hot here, my current VGA is a Vapor-X HD4850 and it made twice emergency shootdown last summer

    CPU Intel Core i7-4770k 3.5 GHz ($359)
Cooler CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i ($110) Is this quiet?
    Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD5H ($282)
    Memory KINGSTON 16GB HyperX XMP DDR3 1600MHz CL9 KIT KHX16C9K2/16X ($222)
    OS (Win7) Storage KINGSTON 60GB SATA3 2,5" SSDNow V300 SV300S37A/60G ($64)
    Game Storage SAMSUNG 250GB SATA3 2.5" 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW ($179)
    Data Storage I'll keep my WD 1000Gb 7200 rpm 32Mb Sata2
Videocard This is my weak spot, im not sure what i want. Maybe GIGABYTE GV-N780OC-3GD GTX780 3GB GDDR5 PCIE ($587)
Case CORSAIR Obsidian Series 550D ($158)
Power Supply I need a little help here. 400W or 500W or 600W or what? Maybe FSP Aurum S Gold 600W ($107)

    Thanks for helping me out!

Build looks good. Shouldnt need to upgrade that for a while and you can always OC down the line to extend its life. The 780 is a bad ass card so with a build of that budget no reason not to get it.

Ad for noise i cant tell you from personal experience how those parts will be.

Why the UD5H over, say, the ASUS Z87 Sabertooth? Is it due to availability? Because at that level of money, I'd look into getting the SilentWings fans for additional low-dB cooling overall. The h80i is loud, but that's because it's a hybrid cooler/pump (I think it's 42dB under load).

    1) Not sure why would you buy such an expensive mobo? You can get Asus z87-A for half the price. That GB board has inflated price due to: having extra lan,usb and sata connections. Unless you think you will need more than 1 lan, 6 usb 3's and 6 Sata's?

    2) Ram, faster and cheaper: http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/corsa...1866c9r/203478

    3) Buying 60gb SSD just for OS is a waste of money, you add 30% more money and get double the GB's:

You can always throw a few games on it.

    4) Have you read about Mantle? (Link in my sig) You don't have 280x or 290 available, and 290x is overpriced like crap.
I have http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/sapph...oc_pcie/534046 and I love it, playing WoW on ultra it is humming at 60C

    5) Solid PSU's:

    Thanks for the answers.

-Moba: I have realy bad experience with Asus motherboards, meanwhile my GB moba works perfectly since 4 years
    How about GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H? It's a lot cheaper ($195)

-Ram: Your choice is 4 module, tought 2 should be better.

-SSD: Not storing games on the OS SSD is the whole point of buying a second SSD for the games :P But yeah, for that little money i could buy a much better drive.

-Nope, i had to look up what's Mantle. But don't tell me WoW supports this brand new feature
Anway... this is another brand problem for me, just like with the moba. I have a Sapphire Vapor-X HD4850 since 4 years and our relationship wasn't smooth. Is this Mantle such a big thing that i should change my mind?

-Power: ill go with the XFX, modular is better. But the question is stil on: do i need 650W?

    Thanks!

Minimum System power required to power a 780 is 600w. My card required the same wattage so I just went 650 to be safe.
I strongly disagree with this advice, as the R9-280x would have been the best pricepoint....if there were any available from that store. Honestly, I'd consider waiting a month before getting a GPU, as the rumoured Maxwell desktop GPUs are due out late-Feb/early-March.

Depends on a lot of variables. Technically you could probably make do with quality 450W unit if you didn't intend to overclock, rise that to 500-550W to be safe and have some overclocking headroom and you're good to go.

Still wasting money on the mobo for extra usb/sata ports and better mutli GPU options
If you want GB take this http://ipon.hu/webshop/product/gigab...z87_hd3/452501

2 sticks are better than 4 if you want to add more RAM later

Sad to hear that, the new Sapphire I have is rock solid, and I had bad experience with GB cards :/

Nah you don't need 650W, you can go with xfx 550w it's a strong PSU. Unless you plan to have dual GPU's.
